@@sameer-up6yv yeah, but that's not the main point. even if the other 7 shades are allowed, their distance is really like master and subordinate. This is different from Alpha, she respects Shadow, but shows her concern and closeness to him, that's what I like, Alpha's relationship is not limited to subordinates, but Alpha is closer to Cid than the other subordinates emotionally

Worth noting that the "family" part to her was the most important aspect. She regards her memory during the days when there were just Cid and the 7 of them as the most precious time of her life. That's why it broke her when she thought Cid abandoned her.

Ln Vol 6 prologue: Alpha was taught all about constructing and the steam from cid. Then Beta joined and firstly she was shy to Cid, always hiding behind Alpha. And nope, Alpha and Beta were not childhoodfriends or whatsoever, they just greeted each other occasionally

She's probably the weakest when it comes to her mental state. Just knowing Cid doesn't need her anymore (just misunderstanding) is already enough to make her enter the state where she is unable to lead Shadow Garden.

"Loneliness is a required course for leadership." Ture leaders bear all the weight alone and have no one to rely on. Not because they can't trust in their subordinates, but because they ultimately bear all the responsibility for every decision. Though technically Shadow is above her in the chain of command, she's the defacto leader, and actively tries to avoid leaning on him (actually the opposite in fact, which adds even more pressure). That kind of stress does things to people's minds, that's why not everyone is made to be a leader. She's probably punching way over her weight, therefore removing the anchor that keeps her going (Cid) is enough to make her determination crumble.

To be honest, that's more on Cid's part than Alpha's. Cid is supposed to be the leader, but he's just cosplaying the whole time while Alpha's intuition is right that Cid does not need her as he's just mostly messing around. She's the one who actually formed the Shadow of Garden, recruited everyone, trained them, motivated them, and discipline them for the greater good. I'd say it's impressive she was able to get this far without much of Cid' helps aside from being a God idol to them along with some knowledge stuff he said when the seven shades were young. Alpha is a great leader, but she's too stuck on being "seconid-in-command".

@@kagetora03 True, maybe he meant other recruits. Because from what we saw, he just trained the seven shades up to the point where they separate and go on to build Shadow Garden, Mitsugoshi and every other public figure/cover, like Beta as the writer Natsume Kafka or Epsilon as the composer Shiron. They did all that on their own, and at least until Lambda took over training duties, it's to be expected that they trained the newbies as well (besides themselves). Cid just goes around doing his own thing.
