@@Illuminerdy_ I did enjoy it, but I cant deny it was a strange read, especially the Tenet style ending. The entire plot felt like Marvel and DC characters put into a Christopher Nolan type movie. Especially with the ending. I loved most of it though, but some things like the whole clone situation, how Thor ends up the way he does and the reveal about who made him that way, I felt like they weren’t clear. I wish we learned more about what happens after

@@ffffffffffffff43 Marvel and DC characters in a Nolan film is some how a PERFECT way to describe this book haha I agree! Some things about the story didn’t feel fully fleshed out but I did find myself still kind of enjoying the wonder it created as I tried to fill the gaps myself.

@@Illuminerdy_ for sure. Head-cannon to the rescue lol. This was one of the first comic books I’ve bought (outside of DC and marvel and Bionicle and stuff). I also bought a comic about Superheroes called “The Mighty” from Image. Have you read that? I really enjoyed that more as a superhero / detective story. I really love superhero stories (and stories in general) that have a beginning and end. One shots, or just a self contained story. DC and Marvel have those, like “Batman White Knight” and some Hulk apocalyptic books, but even then if they are successful more often than not they expand the books again. Invincible and The Boys has it, but I’m already knee deep in the shows and don’t wanna spoil by reading the comics now lol. I also bought this Manga called “the gods lie.” Man that made me cry…. Have you ready “the gods lie” or “The Mighty”?

Great question! Yeah the on going Spider-Man is pretty bad haha that would be up there. The most recent run on Hulk with cates and Ottley was pretty bad even tho it had beautiful art. As far as omnibuses I’d say the fantastic four by Millar and hitch omnibus, that book was fun at times but not great at all even tho again the art was amazing. Also Peter David Hulk Vol 1 was always a tough read other then the Joe fixit stuff. The quick answer is any and everything golden or silver age. I can not stand the panels full of text boxes and the 1 dimensional art that’s slapped on them alot of times or being told every little thing a character is thinking or doing. That’s the easiest answer!

typically during my reviews I try to NOT dive to deep into themes and plot points of stories and keep things as broad and unspecific as possible for the benefit of the reader…so what your pointing out while correct was done intentionally. With that being said the details your sharing due to me being “wrong” seem kinda semantical especially when the definition of mind controlled is being brainwashed or your mind being altered in some way which could cause someone to do something they wouldn’t naturally do which is what took place in the story at the hands of dead Lexington but sure tricked is also a applicable term here. The only thing you have a some what point talking about here is me not going into depth on the reasoning behind the “mind control” or “tricking” of Astonishman, but you now know I was purposefully being avoidant here. @@Illuminerdy_ You're not omitting, you're misrepresenting. Mind Control completely absolves Astonishman of blame. It is completely contrary to Astonishman's characterization. His failure due to hubris is absolutely central to the story on several levels. That's not semantics, that's altering the core of Remender's work here. It is imperative you understand the difference. Describing that accurately does not constitute a spoiler and does not require a deep dive. That glaring difference would be noticed and remembered by anyone seriously listening to your review as I was. Hope that helps.

@@erikriggiola6780 I did omit details, I just said that was my purposeful intention no matter if you wanna express that you feel It wasn’t it doesn’t change what was. The point of this video is not to explain every story detail and character trait because I feel that leaves nothing to the reader. The point of the video is to give my thoughts on the story while simultaneously touching on the plot vaguely enough to hopefully get people curious to read a story I enjoyed and form opinions themselves. I understand YOU feel revealing a character plot point that is a massive turning point for a important character, the world he exists in and how his followers and friends view him as a hero isn’t a spoiler, but I do hence why I didn’t go any deeper into it and said I omitted it. I feel these details are a fascinating and fun aspect to one of Remenders characters to figure out organically by reading and that me diving into it and not allowing people to find out themselves is doing Remender and the readers a disservice when it comes to a well written and complex character. The semantics of your comment isn’t what did or did not take place, it is the need of the term “tricked” being used opposed to “mind controlled” or even “mind altered”. I feel none of these terms absolve Astonishman of blame more or less than the others when not accompanied by the details you have said and I have said I avoided no matter if you agree or disagree with me doing it. Astonishman still committed the act and still committed it due to Dead Lexingtons hand by “tricking”, “mind altering” or “mind controlling” him to think something and do something he normally wouldn’t. That plot point evolves once you learn the details of the character and the event that took place, which once again I feel is best experienced by reading. Where we agree is that the flaws of the character Astonishman and his short comings as a hero is the core of Rememders work here, where we disagree is that The core of Remenders work should be discovered by reading and absorbing Remenders work not by a video saying it. This isn’t a tit for tat thing, I’m explaining to you from my point of view why I stayed away from specific details. You disagreeing or agreeing with that decision is fine to express but it doesn’t change why I chose to do it. Hope you understand! And sorry you don’t agree with my decision, not everyone will 🤷🏽‍♂️
