Unfortunately though, my car has become not financially viable to own anymore, which means I have no choice but to sell my beloved car that I once dreamed of owning for 22 years.
I am currently in the process of selling my Volkswagen New Beetle, which means at the end of 2023 and in the start of 2024, I have no job, no money, and no car. 😭😭😭

No smoke no head gasket, was probably just spark plugs or the evaporator purge valve.

Mine was doing the same exact thing I have a 99 new beetle 2.0 same color lol 😂 and I changed the fuel filter and it stopped acting like it wasn’t getting gas

I’d recommend a 2013+ beetle. You’ll absolutely Love it!! Much more reliable. Just a recommendation from a fellow beetle driver. I’ve driven six of them so far. This one I’ve got now is a 2017 Dune Beetle, and it’s my final car. I’ve owned two New Beetles and they were true and total headaches. But I’ve had three A5 new generation beetles and they’ve been fantastic! Should I do a video of my Beetle Dune? Maybe give you a tour of what an A5 beetle is like.

Have you thought about looking into a 2006-10 model beetle? Might be a bit more reliable? I’m sorry that you have to get rid of your dream car… 🥺

These cars have a heart melting appearance. One bad thing the germans did was they made it so unreliable.

Sad but true, they can be reliable if you religiously keep up with the maintenance, but at what cost? At least with the Honda Fit I'm looking at buying it won't financially run me into the ground.

Update on the Bug: I have SOLD my 2001 Volkswagen Beetle. It sold within one day of me placing it on Marketplace. I took the rule first come, first served. Sold it at a lost, but I am happy it is sold. Onwards to me getting a job in 2024, and getting my next car.

A toyota corolla or a honda civic might be a good reliable car that will take you from A to B without problems

My brother had a Honda Integra until it was written off now he has a Honda Accord. My blame my brother for getting me into Honda's, and I agree with my mum that my next car should be Japanese. Even though I consider Japanese cars boring, as long as you look after them, they WILL last virtually forever.
