MD is by far one of the best of the best aquascapers I have seen. His character inspires so much as well. Nice to see that the Tetras are breeding and hopefully there are more fry hiding up in the foliage. Thank you for the videos. Keep up the great work.

When I was breeding platies/guppies, I found just having a huge tank of them works fine. They tend not to eat their young, especially if they're well fed. The only thing I'd suggest is getting some baby food. The flakes are fine, but you really need to grind them up as the babies have really weak jaws for the first few weeks. The other option is to just let the tank get real dirty with algae, and you won't need to feed them. I did this with some I was breeding for my oscar, just chucked them in a tub in the back yard with a little pond filter. Ended up with so many I had to give them away.

You'll probably have a lot of guppy babies in that tank. Mine isn't nearly as planted and has a few different types of tetras and rasboras with it as well, all larger groups for schooling. I've more guppy babies in that tank than I know what to do with and it started with 1 male and 3 females. They're super adorable to watch grow up though.

Brilliant! I have a tank with just baby platies. I don’t give them any food at all and are growing very nicely. They seem to enjoy eating the algae and other micro foods that naturally occur. I’ll keep and on them to make sure there growth doesn’t stagnate.

Thank you for the countless videos and the countless inspiration. When I came into the fish hobby I was misguided. Now I've learned simple planted tanks are the easiest to care for and in the long run do really well. have started a 55g planted tank and haven't done much maintenance months! Most people that get into fish get a 55g with 5 12 inch plus fish and think it's not fish abuse.

Hay md if u r wanting to get rid of the algae, wat i do in my tanks is put a cap of the api co2 booster at the start of the week and one close to the end of the week and it really helps maintain the algae, give ot a go if u like but seems to work well, cool vid man

Something similar happened to me with Least rasboras and Schuberti barbs. Two different tanks, both fish spawned without any input.

Hi there MD, it would be fantastic if any day you did a video just on cycling your tanks (lets call it the masterclass), both you how you use existing material to seed new tanks but also perhaps how you would go about cycling a whole new virgin tank (with fish in)... I know you always mention bits of info in each video but there is quite a lot of details we miss and this seems to be by far the area newbies like me struggle the most... We all want beautiful tanks but getting stuck or killing fish is never fun... Thanks mate!

my columbian tetras made tons of babies in my community tank. Last summer I had to sell over 30 of them because 50 of these tetras in a 90 gallon was a bit too much, just bought 10 of em 7 years ago.

Oh no!!! You’re breaking up the Amazon fish tank. I LOVED that tank so much. I understand though that you have to create new tanks for the channel but still though🥹. Aren’t you afraid of the endlers and koi guppy to interbreed? Not that I would care of it was my tank I have endlers and they breed crazy along with ember tetra, amano shrimp and plecos. And in the other tank only red cherries and they breed too

Not so surprising actually. With a group of 10 in a sparsely planted community aquarium with five large Silver Dollars by pure chance I managed to breed more than 30. They grew quickly and I swapped them for things I needed at my local aquarium. They aggressively defended their fry until they got up to ~1cm.

I really wants to change the substrate since we’re going to be breaking down the tank anyway. My question is, how will the plants handle that and will it cause the cycle to crash, even with seeded media in the filters?
