This was a really emotional journey for me, holy crap. I got into Dir en Grey back in 2007 and used to listen to GAUZE every morning on my way to college on the coach. God I'm nearly in tears, this band means so much to me.

Most bands get less heavy and less experimental with age. Dir En Grey is not most bands.

バンドは歴が長いと攻撃性が失われて柔らかくなっていくものだけどDIRはその真逆。 ものすごいバンドだね

インディーの頃から応援しててメジャーデビューを自分のことのように喜んでいた中学生の頃の自分。 TVで残とかヤバイ笑とか言ってた自分。 Dirが駆け抜けていた時間の間にすっかりおっさんになったよ。 相変わらずカッコいいな。乾杯！

一般的にはいい目で見られないジャンルかもしれないけどこの人たちを生き甲斐としている人だっている。

DIRの静かな曲って全て天才的な切なさや痛みがあるよな。

こういう我道を行くバンドって素敵 こんだけ長い間やっててどこかぶっ飛んでて今にもキレそうな雰囲気が全く消えてないのも凄い

こうやって順を追っていくと同じバンドなのは分かるけど 最初と最後だけ見たら普通の人が見たら別バンド過ぎる

Dir en greyは頑張れば歌える DIR EN GREYは頑張っても歌えない

こう聞いてくと後半になってRanunculusみたいな曲出てくるとかまだまだすごい曲出してきそうで逆にこわいな

バンドってよく昔の曲の方が好きっていうの多いけど、ディルに関してはどこをとっても好き。 いつの時代もそばにいてくれてありがとう。

After being a fan for 16 years I finally got to see them live the other night. Was completely blown away. Kyo was on point the whole time. I swear he keeps getting better. I uploaded the world of mercy performance to my channel. Great timing for this video lol

It`s insane that they started in 1997 and have been evolving ever since. This is one of few bands in the world who has continued to put out great music since their first album. Evolving ever since and getting better and better live ever since. It`s just insane to watch the progression and stage presence of this band. It`s almost like an performance art but music just as precise as an orchestra would preform.

昔の楽曲をリメイクしてくれたり、mode ofツアーなど本当にファンを大切にしてくれてる感あるのが堪らん。

The maturity, the confidence, the vocal prowess. It’s incredible witnessing this progress in real time, a whole generation of art. Personally I believe Uroboros was that magical tipping point where they redefined themselves as a band. So unique- definitely will always have a place in my heart for as long as I live.

Besides the fact that Dir En Grey obviously evolved a lot and are a great bunch of artists, can we take a second to appreciate all the work that went into the making of this video? Really great job done!

Well. For a guy who lives in Texas, who'd never heard of this incredible band, this was a very well-crafted example of how much HARD WORK these guys put into their art. Wow. They definitely live up to the influences of XJapan. Masterfully precise, and emotionally expressive. Mad respect.

Never stopping experimenting or pushing the boundaries and challenging themselves. They're so fucking unique and Kyo is arguably one of the best vocalists on the planet.

This video was so emotional, so well done. I shed my tears in some parts including the end. This band always will be my favorite, for the rest of my life. I also loved, and really understood the explanation behind 'TWOM' isn't in this video. I also think that song is the beginning of a new phase, and I hope so too. Thanks for this.

I have been a fan since 05 (I was 12/13 back then) and got to see them 4 times in my years of youth and adulthood. Once in 07 when they toured with the deft tones, then in 08 when they toured with the human abstract as their opener, ‘10 when it was with Apocalyptica where I got to meet them and get a picture with them.. NOW almost 10 years later I got to see them just a couple days ago and it’s been a ride following them since I was just a child and now I am 26. I feel like I have grown with them. I started this decade with Dir en grey and I have ended that same decade with Dir en grey. Almost 15 years with these guys.. you captured that well with this video. Thank you so much.

I was a huge Dir en grey fan during ms/early hs years but kinda lost interest after Withering to Death. When Vestige of Scratches was uploaded to Spotify recently, I got super nostalgic and have started listening to them again, but always found myself skimming over their newer songs. After watching this video though, I'm definitely going to give their newer material a chance as I found a few new favorites in here 👀 You did such a wonderful job putting this together, thank you so much for sharing 💙

My taste in music has changed so much over the years, but since I first discovered Dir En Grey (somewhere in 2006/2007, through the „Obscure“ music video here on youtube) I truely continued to stay in love with the music from this very special band. They are so unique ..and I guess to a certain extend every fan fell a little bit in love with Kyo in some way - his presence and vocal range, moods and constantly changing looks are just out of this world. I guess my most favorite album will stay Dum Spiro Spiro, but it‘s definetly the only band I really enjoy listening to all the albums and 90-95% of the songs. Sometimes I worry about the band - espacally Kyo, because his lyrics and vocals still seem to come from a very dark place of his inner self. ˋCould talk about the band for hours and hours ..but again: thank you very much for this upload 🙏

I've been a fan of dir en grey since 2008 and I've listened to many of their CDs. Saw them go from one form or era to another. I remember seeing them live with my dad back in 08 and just recently in 2019. They got better with age, going from visual kei to this new beauty I cant describe.

This took me down memory lane, I started listening to them in 2006, but I really fell in love in 2009. I was lucky to see them 3 times in 3 days back in 2014 and honestly, I have not been able to enjoy concerts the same since. I need to see them again one day.
