Honestly, I credit it to both Roman AND Paul Heyman. I feel that without Paul and his brilliance, we’d be missing the extra layers of this Renaissance Era. @@kpimkpim349 butterfly effect, the chain of events weren't necessarily about cody himself but he was the catalyst. Rollins baby face turn, new layers to roman's story. Judgement day changes. Jey uso moments that pushed him to another level such as "Yeet". Cody's return to wwe was a ripple effect. Without him the reigns saga wouldn't have a believable ending. Rollins wouldn't be as big as he is now, neither would judgement day or jey.

@@josiahh8158 Other than Yeet, 100% of this happened during Vince. Again, HHH, Heyman and Stephanie have all said WM40 is the beginning to 100% HHH. Jey Uso is Jey Uso because he's cool AF naturally and the bloodline story (vince). Him and Jimmy came up with Yeet. Usually ppl wait a few years to start wrestling revisionist history but the fact that this one started immediately is new. What did Cody coming back start? Especially when CM punk coming back had way more of an impact. WM 40 is the beginning of the new HHH ear, Bloodline era was the end of Vince, and it's ok. It doesn't make HHH or Cody less, lets watch and see what happens. 99.8% of Rollins career has been under Vince lol.

@@kpimkpim349 I'm not saying cody was the start of any era. I believe that started with the bloodline and reigns turning heel. The exact moment this new resurgence era started would be the camera panning to heyman sitting next to roman. My comment has nothing to do with vince or HHH. I'm simply saying that cody's return caused a butterfly effect and caused a massive impact on wwe. Especially after WM40.

This era doesn’t feel like a single moment defines it, it feels like a handful of moving parts all falling into place. The heel turn of Roman, Cody coming back, Punk in WWE, Rock’s heel turn, triple H taking over, the mainstays on the roster are slowly entering “legend” status, and we’re seeing afresh wave of talent from NXT come in. Hard to pinpoint a single moment.

I hate to break it to ppl but it wasnt that austin said austin 3:16 and business took off and they were back no, it was all that building up to that segment with tyson and austin thats when wwe returned to mainstream. Also tho john said that whole thing he wasnt the embodiment of ruthless aggression, brock was. Also more fans liked dave than they did john , but john was younger and he did hold it down eventually he became the face of the company. Much in the way those werent one thing this era aint just reigns turning heel , because remember after awhile they started to have an issue being no one felt like a top babyface to combat roman, the moment cody showed up, ppl started realizing codys the perfect fit.

I don’t think it was Cody’s return that started the new era, but I do think the events leading after his return was the cause of the new era, for instance: Sami & bloodine story, bloodline civil war, the formation of the judgement, Dominik’s heel turn, rise of Rhea ripley, Vince stepping down, triple h taking over, formation of TKO, Logan Paul debut, rise of la knight, rise of gunther, rise of Sami zayn, rise of jey uso, unification of the wwe and universal championship, return of the world heavyweight champion and women’s world champion. In other words, a lot of big changes that would be affected in the long run took a curve in one year after Cody’s return. Roman reigns heel turn is definitely important, but it didn’t spark a new era. At the time wwe was still stuck in the thunderdome era and still reliant with the previous stars and mechanics of the “new era” that started in 2016.

Cody’s return is the one for me, even though Roman has probably played teh biggest part in all of it half of his reign still felt like 2019/Pandemic, Cody returning and hearing “wrestling has more than one royal family” kingdom playing in the stadium and seeing American nightmare in the titantron was to me what started the new era, because wwe started to feel different, it didn’t feel like it’s own separate universe from every other wrestling company, hiac aswell Cody coming out with the torn pec showed wwe getting its edge back, not all credit goes to Cody but I think that he is the perfect example of the differences between this wwe and 2019 wwe

Exactly! People are missing the point of Roman heel turn. It saved Roman’s failure babyface career. It didn’t saved WWE 😂 Cody on other hand, changed the era cuz things changed a lot since then

I really think its WM38. Roman winning the double champion started a run where everyone who gets into a storyline with roman instantly becomes one of the biggest face. He became the top heel because of the double title gatekeeping everyone.

I'm leaning toward Cody's return. Considering he started another promotion, people never thought that he'd come back. That brought back the whole ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN feel.

I think it’s Wrestlemania 38 after that it all felt a lil different with Cody there
