Over the past year, one new message has surfaced on forums across the internet. In today's video we are going to try to get to the bottom of these posts and who is behind them as well as their motive.

I remember that reddit post. Or, at least, a post on r/RBI about this where the OP immediately seemed to assume it was a front for human trafficking for some reason. Everyone in the post seemed to blow it off, so I'm a little surprised to see a video on it. Either way, I see a new video from Barely Sociable, I click. You've quickly become one of my favorite youtubers. Internet mysteries, particularly creepy ones, is one of my favorite things to watch on KZfaq/read about on reddit.

If you haven't already, please turn everything into the FBI's Cyber Crime division. I worked with NCMEC for many years, and I know a bit about what I'm looking at. Send them everything you have. Also, I advise that if you continue this work (which is commendable), anything you find that is illegal, particularly in the form of human trafficking and child exploitation/abuse, do NOT keep it on your personal computer or device. You could get charged, as well. When you find anything like that, immediately contact the FBI and inform them. Make a report so it's on file. Awesome work!

While sex work is technically illegal in South Korea, in reality it's very common (ie there are "massage parlours" everywhere). There's no reason to believe this has anything to do with trafficking.

@@theMoporter Ah, but "trafficking" is the new "moral panic"! It needs a new name because it's actually an old moral panic. It's something that politicians can reliably campaign against without crossing swords with any powerful vested interest or lobbying group. The term "trafficking" is used to imply victimhood and raise the "ooga-booga" level. Of course, whenever we have a single word that covers a wide variety of things, the simple meaning we settle on is ALWAYS inaccurate for many of those things. So "trafficking" is supposed to conjure up images of your little girl, tied up in the trunk of a car heading for South America, but the word is also used to cover young business women who are exotic dancers, and may supplement that substantial income with other services. Since most of the ones I've met were working their way through medical school, stricter enforcement could result in a shortage of doctors! Unintended consequences...

Lol I think what OP meant was that the voice of the old toonami robot is a voice actor named Steve Blum, and said Steve Blum also voices the English dubs of the characters Mugen and Spike from the animes Samurai Champloo and Cowboy Bebop, respectively.

I live in South Korea, and from what I've both seen and been told by Korean friends, is that basically every massage parlor offering "more" is owned and run by Chinese. There's a red light district a few subway stops away from my home that's dead center in the little China town. Every "massage parlor" and "cafe" (where you also 'buy girls') have their signs in Chinese. It wouldn't be surprising at all if the same guy running the diploma business is running some massage parlors as well.

I lived in Korea for two years, and Korean barber shops and massage parlors are notorious for illegally providing sexual favors to customers. The fact that all this is connected to Korean Massage parlor makes sense to me because of the fact I stated above. They are known for shady buisiness.

This isn't related at all but I still need to post this somewhere. My dad found this really strange rabbithole with European hardware websites. While looking for materials to build an extension of our house, he found that almost every website he looked at had suspicious origins with very similar "family" run company styles. Turns out its some huge network of white supremacist funding through these "normal" web stores. I could not make this shit up. It sounds absolutely surreal and like some classic tinfoil hat rambles, but I'm honestly obsessed. If you wanna bother looking into this, it just gets more and more unbelievable the further you dig.

It's very sad just how common these are. As a background check investigator, I have seen and dealt with literally thousands of these "Diploma Mills", these are based in the United States too. I do background checks for clients in the healthcare industry and it's scary seeing just how many people try to get away with these false diplomas without a full education. I love your videos, and this one really hit home!

If you think about it, all of the services noted for payment aren't really leaving any form of definitive log of transactions behind them (from knowlage, I don't know about wechat someone else would have to check that) meaninng the money could possibly go through to korea, put inside this massage parlor and having clean money come out of it that'd easily be explainable by the buisness owner as they can just say "It's money i've earnt from my buisness" and that could also explain the fact that theres numerous websites with the same sort of template, it's quite possible that template was originally done by said buisness owner and decided to copy and paste it for the different websites/locations as it works fine I could be wrong about this; but it's one take.

There are such easier ways to launder money from China, you don't need to set up other illegal businesses to launder money, then you just have more dirty money. Selling diplomas and running prostitution services are just good, profitable businesses. Laundering needs to make the money legitimate somehow, through a front business that is deals in large amounts of money, with items that have subjective value, like art and jewelry. So easy. Also, the fastest and easiest way for Chinese people to launder money is to buy American properties in cash, their favorite is buying in California. It's very upsetting just watching them waltz in and snatch up houses, local Californians have to keep competing with their cash offers. This is not a secret, it happens blatantly and no one is doing anything to stop it. Chinese crime lords are becoming a huge property owners in California, it's a real problem, exactly how Colombians crime lords own a lot in Miami, middle eastern ones own a ton on the East Coast.
