In the late 2010's it was almost impossible to watch TV around the holidays without being bombarded with the Lebron James Sprite Cranberry commercials. This commercial was played so much, it became mocked by the internet, eventually becoming an internet meme. Typically, folks would make KZfaq poop style edits and chop up the clip comedically. However, in 2019 one anonymous internet user took things to the next level. Making a Sprite Cranberry meme that was so powerful, so pervasive, that it temporarily brought shock sites into vogue for the first time in years. This is the story of the story behind the bizarre shock website known as 'SpriteCranberry'.

i will never forget the sprite cranberry meme. i was in high school at the time it first blew up and i vividly remember a kid brought in a 12 pack of sprite cranberry and was handing them out to anybody who wanted one.

I was just about to comment this. I agree, they're probably fine with it because it's free publicity, and a lot of brands have realized how good for publicity memes are. At same time it's such a big brand that they know something like this can't harm their reputation

Ever hear of the Streisand Effect? I'm sure Coca-Cola has and figured it's best to leave it alone. Plus a sprite is a term used in video game graphics, which is probably why they changed it to sprite harder for the 2nd year. They can't sue for that one.

I still remember this one shock site back between 2006-2008. Must have stumbled across it on Encyclopedia Dramatica, and I believe it was something to the degree of "finaldestination" or some phrase that was kind of epic sounding. It was fucked up. It turned your volume up to 100, blasted the phrase "I'm LOOKING AT GAY PORNO" on your speakers and started printing porn while infinite windows spawn on the screen and you have to turn your computer off. That was a rough day.

This vaguely reminds me of an iCarly episode from 2007/08 where Sam watches a video titled "neck infection". At the time, if you searched for it on KZfaq, you would've been able to watch a scene from a French documentary showing a dude's neck infected with an insect, and the insect being pushed out by surgeons, in 240p greatness. The comments section was filled with "WTF iCarly why you sent me here???". It was golden.

@@consuelonunez792 most of the time dogs shouldn’t need to have them expressed, this should happen naturally as they pass stool, the gland releases secretion that is a scent indicator about the dog, aka a smell that tells other dogs everything about the dog that produces it (this is what dogs are sniffing when they sniff dog poop/other dogs butts) However the way some dog breeds are shaped makes this not function correctly, so that the gland isn’t expressed, and the liquid just builds up causing impact ion and infection, so they need to have the glands manually expressed regularly (this usually affects smaller, bow-legged breeds like mini poodles, etc). Sometimes dogs that have been experiencing regular soft stools/diarrhea need to have the glands manually expressed too.

Claudia Duran I tried it once years ago it was okay, personally I like cranberry flavored Sierra Mist much better, but I don't even know if that exists anymore especially since it's almost impossible for me to find just regular Sierra Mist. And oddly enough it looks like regular sprite as opposed to the cranberry Sierra Mist which had a reddish color to it which the cranberry canada dry does as well, but I don't recommend it.

I find it interesting that they named the school James Woods Regional High, because even by this point in the show, Family Guy had changed the name to Adam West High, in order to honor the late actor (and in-universe mayor).

Mate, I'm just sad they got rid of the old cranberry Sprite and replaced it with that winter spiced flavour. Time for you to randomly mix soda with other things until you get the right chemical reaction to replicate the flavor! I did that with Pepsi Blue by accident. Poured coke into I think some local fruit punch juice by accident (didn't check if the cup was empty) and somehow the final result of 1/3rd sugary fruit punch and 2/3rds coke was the OG Pepsi Blue flavor.

The only shock site/image I ever fell for was Lemon Party and the friend in my culinary class who said it had some unique recipes I might be able to integrate into the "make whatever you want so long as it has a main dish, side dish and dessert" project got a real stern talking to. And the occasional habanero pepper snuck into his food. That was around 2006 so we didn't have any of those mutant, multi-million Scoville nightmares that exist today. As far as I remember, anyway.

@@jc755. there's an add on called "Return KZfaq Dislike" it archives the dislikes of videos that still show them and shows them to other people with the extention. IIRC content creators can allow it to read dislikes from their analytics and display them too.

I remember a few people in my class were talking about this site and i didnt know what it was exactly but i also thought it was suspicious because i overheard some people saying how you shouldnt go to the website but didnt exactly say why, and also i thought it was a bit suspicious they were so excited over a website that when you hear it at first was just about some soda My friend kept telling me about it, and hinting about how i should "never ever go to the website" and so i never did but one day she changed her mind and said "go to this website i swear its nothing bad" and i still didnt budge so she looked it up on her computer and put it on my desk in front of me and i watched ir for a second, but thank god i looked away right before i saw anything bad and then she started laughing at me cuz i flinched and turned away

Nah, I think there's a natural stage in human development where a person seeks that stuff out. I know plenty of people, myself included, who hung out on rotten in middleschool or highschool. I think it may have something to do with trying to understand the fragility of life and a lot of other stuff we can't quite wrap our heads around yet. It's only a concern if they don't grow out of it. I think the news is probably a way bigger factor, you just keep hearing about disasters, killings, obscenely high body counts, every day. Eventually you just sort of go, "oh, again? Bummer."

Yeah those dog butt glands can get so bad that they have a smell of rotten garbage and can make the dog very sick if they don’t get expressed. It’s not 💩 poo either it’s this weird goo that absolutely stinks so soooo bad. Especially with bigger dogs they can shoot out like really nasty geysers. The first time my dog started to smell like rotten garbage I had to take them to the vet and the vet did it and my dogs were extremely built up and it shot all over the vet and the smell made me puke.

What's funny is I've seen that vet video before when I thought my old dog's anal glands were having problems. It turned out not to be that, but he had other health problems. My parents refused to have him put down. He wound up dying under unpleasant circumstances. I feel bad for that dog sometimes.

While scat and assholes collapsing aren't really that big of a issue for me, (gore and animal abuse is what destroys me) shock sites really fucked me up as a kid. I didn't have that big of a reaction back then, but it's carried over into my adulthood big time. This one's relatively jokey and harmless for the most part, (although I'm pretty sensitive about toes) but I would appreciate the trend of shock sites to stay dead.

If it helps, that ain’t poop. It’s gland secretions. Basically a solid fragrant material (think like cologne that can harden instead of evaporate) that can get stuck and cause problems.
