CORRECTION: at 21:41 I misspoke. I stated February 2019, it should have been February 2014. I say the correct year multiple times past this point, I guess I just had the number 9 in my head for some reason during that specific take. Sorry about that guys. The misstated date has been edited out.
For most people, video games are a fun way to relax after a long day at work or school. For others, their relationship with gaming can be dangerous to themselves and others. In today's video, we will be looking at some of the most bizarre criminal cases in gaming.

The term Psychopathic or Sociopathic is often times misused. A Psychopath is someone who is born without empathy while a sociopath is someone who develops the problem and doesn’t feel empathy. It is extremely rare and I mean extremely rare for them to be murderer or serial killer contrary to popular belief. They just don’t feel any empathy. They can’t understand other people emotions though they are ways they can understand it by literally asking themselves how others feel. Can they be violent yes but it is rare. I think should understand this cause this can unnecessary societal pressure and very brash judgement and will solve the actual problems.

@@Unbreakable245 I couldn't help but to think this exactly. Obviously the son is completely wrong and was out of his mind to shoot and kill them, there is no justifying that , but I think there should be some type of lesson or thought here about how the parents were imposing thier religious beliefs on the kid so hard they were going to kick him out or hid his game for it. Again that doesn't justify any killing at all but I know I would've hated my parents for doing that.

That's not so crazy as you think, many people survive shots to their head when they try to kill themselves. But this whole case is pretty fnckəd up. I can understand that Daniel was upset and angry when his father took the copy of the game from him, but everything what happened afterwards, shows that Daniel is a psychopath and that he clearly lacks the ability to feel empathy for others. The strategy of his attorney shows that some people are obviously not able to differentiate reality from fiction. In this case it's Daniel's attorney. Who in his right mind would even think that people who are playing video games can't differentiate real deaths and real harm from deaths and harm in movies and video games? I'm sorry for his Family (Including his father) but how the heck did he thought it would be a good idea to put the game in the same safe the gun was in is beyond me. What a pointless act of Violence...

Long distance relationships can only work in my eyes with 3 factors: 1. You knew each other way before the distance happened 2. There's a plan to reconnect in person while away 3. I wasn't a big halo fan growing up but I was definitely an unreal tournament fan, sometimes even waking up the next morning at my keyboard after playing through the night. As a 10 year old girl, it was pretty unusual that I chose to spend every weekend binging this game but I wasn't so addicted that I would have killed someone over it, I would just maybe throw a tantrum when I got kicked from a server because people would pressure me to get on mic after losing to me in death matches and such, and when they heard my 10 year old baby voice they'd immediately boot me and my progress would be ruined 😤 that aside, IT WAS NEVER THAT SERIOUS. killing someone over this shit is wild af.

This makes me so sad.. video games are meant for ppl to have fun and forget about real world problems. Video games has helped me a lot through the 21 years I have been playing especially now that I’m an adult handling real adult problems. I always look forward coming home from work and booting up a game. It sucks that these gamers think murder was the only way to get their way, I hope they have learned their lesson and realize it wasn’t worth it taking a life over something that’s not real or important.. I’ve faced the same issues as some of these guys. I have had my account stolen from me on Wizard101 that I put hours and hours into but instead of plotting revenge I blocked my so called online “friend” and just made a new account and started over and not to trust anyone like that again

Okay. As a college student who is a little less than honest when it comes to if I'm passing all my classes, yes it's a very hard thing to tell your parents and yes I'm too scared to do that. But I'm still trying my hardest to fix my mistakes so I DON'T put myself in an awkward position of dropping out or having it all come forward when it comes time for me to graduate. I dug my own hole, so I'm going to put in the effort to get out of it even if it means I have to spend more money than what I would've wanted to. I was going to go into debt no matter what, so I guess it's a trade off that I can live with. That being said.... This guy is not a coward. He's deranged and never should've even been allowed to get his hands on a weapon. He should've been going to a professional instead of going to the mall.... And I hate how he says, "I'm an atheist" as if that's somehow a valid explanation for his choices. I'm personally agnostic, but I have close friends who are atheists and would 1000% look at this and be absolutely mortified. Even if you don't believe in an afterlife, even if you don't subscribe to the idea of a higher power, it's pretty damn obvious that the fact that you even exist is an incredibly rare feat on its own and a second one of you is pretty much never going to happen ever again. You don't need to believe in a god, a heaven, or a hell to understand the basic idea that you should make the most of your life while you have it and no innocent person deserves to have their right to life taken away like that. It's so disturbing reading those messages.. It's disturbing to think there really are human beings who would be faster to grab a gun and kill someone out of impulse than they would to simply have what would've been a pretty common conversation (like dude you're not the first person in existence to flunk out of college) with their 'loved' ones.

The thing about the Halo Killer, I've heard stories of individuals that have suffered Infections or injuries to their nervous system resulting in them developing violent or aggressive tendencies later down the line afterward, makes me wonder if his ski injury and staph infection may have been a factor in it. Truly sad that anybody would harm the people closest to them, it sucks that some people out there are quicker to point the finger at hobbies rather than any other factors like Mental Illness.

Being from an Indian upper middle class family (both parents doctors) I can totally understand the situation he was in. I am in a good place now with my wife and job, but my entire childhood was spent under extreme pressure of overperforming in studies. Every single test was like life and death. If I didn't come in the top two positions, it was either beating with a rod, or other forms of physical abuse, almost torture. And it's not like my case was different. Most Indian/Asian parents are like this. Extremely abusive. I still have nightmares about it well into adulthood (31). I am sure this guy went through a similar horrible childhood at the hands of his parents. I am not saying what he did was right, it was equally horrible. But I understand where he comes from, this family issue is something most of the white people have trouble understanding.

I used to live in Markham; my brother was friends with the girl who was murdered by her brother. In recent years that city had 2 cases where uni dropouts lied about their academic status and plotted their families' murders. This particular city prides itself in numbers above all else. You can see it in the schools. Every student knows their high school's rank. Other schools will reject transfers if they fear you'll bring their average down. Almost every new resident is just flipping their house, so forget about having a relationship with neighbors. It's not a happy place. It's more of a business or a machine, and I wish it was discussed more.

A lot of the effort they put into finding him occurred before his dad and sister were dead. Sadly they were unable to find him beforehand, but still... I worked in mental health and disability services for a few years and had clients with traumatic brain injuries. Some of them had to learn to walk again, some even had to learn to talk again similar to some stroke victims. One of my clients couldn't look down, he could move his head to look forward, up and side to side but if he looked down he would lose control over his balance and fall to the ground, this happened several times a day. Other effects of brain injury included debilitating migraines, memory issues, changes in personality, poor inpulse control and problems with substance use because they either became addicted to pain meds due to their injuries or were using drugs/alcohol to help them cope. One more thing, of the clients I worked with, the majority had sustained their injuries in fights, usually outside the local pub or in car accidents where alcohol was a factor, due to my country having a culture of drinking heavily on the weekends. So I guess I'll just say to anyone reading this...PLEASE don't drink and drive, don't get into drunken brawls and if you absolutely must have a slap fight, do it safely!

But since my second incident, i feel like i'm actually dumb. I'm not all there, compared to how i was. My typing might seem fine, but, in reality, in real life, damn. I hate it. Everyone treats me like i'm some "retard". Iv'e fallen twice, complete face plants into concrete. Iv'e two scars. On each eyebrow. The left, i'll still say to people I was spiked, and to this day, i really do think i was spiked that day. The second time however, was my own fault. I had drank a lot, and then smoked a Joint with a guy after. After that, ordered a taxi completey fine, he asked if it was ok to walk up to his house to collect some things, on the way up towards his house, i'd tripped over a metal pole and face planted head first. I came home blood all over my face, all over my pillow, everything. Since that day, i just don't think iv'e been the same. I mean i was dumb as shit beforehand, but now, really, i think that reality became real. I hate it. I'm mainly coming towards you're first part of the comment of "not looking down". I can look down alright. But everything else. It seems warped in a sense. I hide it as much as possible, but to see people treat me as a "retard", really feels like maybe i am a "retard".. :(

“His perception of reality was warped by the game itself” dude I remember playing halo when I was in elementary school and still understood that all of it wasn’t real. This boy was sick, and the games absolutely did not help. If your going to become so lost in video games that you just completely forget or realize that you have people, real life people that love you. Then that’s really sad, and you don’t need to play anymore. I love video games but it’s when I’m bored, and when I want to chill out on a day off from work or something. I’m very happy for the father at the end to get the justice he deserved, as well as fighting for his wife. Despicable the father had to sit in front of his pathetic son just to tell the court the son did it. Literally how low could you be. All because of halo 3.
