Hey Byf, now that the Witness is dead, majority of of his disciples (as far as we know) are dead, those who practice the sword logic are fewer than ever and for now we are the deciding force within Sol. In this new age of Destiny's story how likely do you think individuals are going to explore necromancy and other forms of dead-raising? We're seeing new powers granted by the echoes to older characters, that many would have considered their stories relatively finished in a sense, now back with power boosts in the forms of Echoes, could the main antagonist of 'Heresy' be Nokris? with his worm god dead at our hands how likely is it he still has his necromantic abilities? Could he receive an Echo and be granted a new unholy power giving him a form of control or influence over fallen Hive and/or other species? And also what do you think Fikruls glow-up will grant him? to me, from what we have seen so far, it almost seems as tho he gains a similar power/ability/thing very similar to the black VenomSymbiote looking substance we saw in multiple cutscenes/visions/trailers, could he be gaining that specific aspect of the Witness' armaments? Would love to hear your thoughts on possible timelines and future events to come.

When it comes to Lightfall, Nez didn’t know he’d be resurrected by the traveler. I think Mithrax would’ve been his original plan and now his current one since we killed him in RoN

Nezarec returning with his nightmares against us, Mithrax being resurrected as the first Eliksni lightbearer and a third darkness subclass (red as expected) look great. Its their chance to give us another great story and make Nezarec's lore better

WAIT - isn’t there lore back from Forsaken where Savathun discussed that weaving oneself into the universe as a law is the key to transcendence and immortality? What is Savathun killing Nezarec had the secondary objective of putting that to the test so that she can harness the concept herself? She’s already toyed with this idea of immortality through lies in Imbaru - what if Nezarec and Nightmare darkness is her pathway to the immortality and ascendency she seeks?

Hmmmmn, does this mean Eramis adopts Eido when Mithras is gone? This is an intriguing prediction, and the story opportunities are once again, off the charts. Reason why I say that is, again, Nezarec is the only villain in this universe outside the Winnower who can actually harm us specifically. While the Mithrax plot is going on outside,in the world, I want to see Nezarec in our heads, tearing us apart from the inside. Arkham Scarecrow style in a dream world of his make, turning our mind against us as we drift into the first stages of insanity.

I think Nezarec needs a bit of a retcon from the nonsense we got in Lightfall. Remember that wild theory that Nezarec was betraying the Witness on the sky for his own ends? I thought that was so much more compelling.

We know that Pyramids, especially Nez’s, have a kind of sentience to them. Inaaks brought the infant Misraaks with her when harvesting Nez’s body parts. What if Nezarec chose Misraaks has his vessel from his infancy, and has been subtly manipulating events to make this a reality?

I feel like Mithrax dying and resurrecting is going to play out as TFS' original ending but instead of using darkness and light to revive our ghost we use it to rez Mithrax (now without risk of him forgetting since both powers are within him). Or maybe The Traveler itself uses its new found power to rez him, bypassing the need for ghosts...😊

I like the idea that nezeracs revival was never intended to be when and how it actually happened. Theres no way to predict being randomly revived by the traveler hitting the witness with a big "nerf this!" beam. The prophecy itself hasnt been fulfilled. And an unnerfed nezerac could close to rival a nerfed witness in terms of threat level. (I've been using his helmet since i started the game in year one, when tractor only buffed void, so i was disappointed with his protrail in lightfall, I'll hold onto hope for a better sendoff)

I dont know if we'll get nightmares specifically but maybe powers of memory. I think we could do more with memory, along side the power of summoning nightmares we already have some power over memory with deep sight

new to this channel, fun listen! "The Hive are not the last to be chosen by the light" is already true, and in fact is only mysterious if you discount the part where the Traveler attempted to uplift the Krill billions of years ago and only failed due to the intercession of the worm gods, or the Deep generally. I'm sure you've heard that one before, and I don't think it means there aren't other reasons we could see an Eliksni Guardian before too long (Eido, for instance, has had to be warned away from danger many times--even this episode she had to be told not to go to Nessus); but the whole point of it is that a lot of the two-truths-two-lies lines are open to interpretation. For instance "the Taken King will rise again" could be a literal prophecy that we'll see Oryx again, or one of the lies (I don't remember what was paired with it), or a more mundane prediction that Simmumah's gambit would work, or could mean that someone else will take up the title like maybe Toland, or--to bring up something particularly out of left field--it could be about the simulated Aurash that Quria made during the Books of Sorrow.

Bruh Nezarec said this himself when he dematerialized at the end of his raid, he literally explained it as "while his memory lives, so does he". Interestingly though, this suggests his being is woven into the memory recreation ability of darkness. Probably gonna mix with light or something in order to rebirth himself, same as the platforms in the traveler with the lil traveler orbs.

7:39 Can you clarify this? What do you mean by Nezerec would have been with Mithrax when he was revived? Nezerec said during the raid that the person in possession of his remains would be affected in some way. So are you saying the Nezerec’s consciousness would’ve manifested within Mithrax when he was revived?

So we have a blending of the light and dark. Echoes making many things possible. The question is how far will bungie take this? D2? D3/DESTINY? Will Drifter and Eris help Saint/Nimbus/Osiris/Failsafe and Caitl become the new guardians of the galaxy and leave the universe in frontiers? We do have 3 slots for characters and powers are getting blurry so could we have?.. Hive Eliksni Human/Exo/Awoken Instead of the last 3 to choose in a new Destiny game? Just like bungie seems to be hinting at maya/chioma from LF they have been hinting at Missracks finally joining the light with his possession and exorcism death. He gets reborn and Eramis and Eido raising him with the history of His people. I think Bungie is waiting to see how JJK ends 😆

Nezarec as presented in-game so far is an awful character. His dialogue comes across as what a 12 year old thinks is edgy. I would rather see a deeper dive into literally any other character in the lore, but if we get Nezarec again I hope they fix his awful dialogue!!
