The overtime challenges was just a passionate way of epic telling you to play at the end of the map these days it's just random colour superstyles and the styles are literally a big reward at the end of pages back then they were in story challenges which led up to a live event

I miss when the challenges actually involve doing something weird or specific, now it's just boring 'do damage' or 'use consumables'

Technically C2S1 was also the introduction to super level styles with corrupted Scratch.

I'm glad the weekly quest rewards are the spiritual successor to overtime. But it just doesn't feel the same, and the styles taking up pass tiers is annoying

Something I also liked is that they gave you the loading screen of the current season after completing all the overtime challenges. Nowadays sometimes they make challenges to get them and other times they just forget it completely (at least as I remember untill chapter 2, I havent played since OG and I dont remember giving them to us).

I was so devastated not getting the overtime styles, i only gotten the Sidewinder edit style and nothing else. Overtime challenges were so cool and i do hope they come back eventually.

Overtime challanges were cool but I really miss the progressive skins like golden peely and the progressive banners.

I feel like chapter 2 season 2 made sense with the gold styles, but the new super styles don’t really go with the season. They throw them in Willy nilly.

Seeing the overtime challenges after 4 years, gives me a tear to my eyes.

I really do miss when Fortnite did stuff like this. Bringing up Sidewinder's Blue style as an example of how they integrated some lore into the character is one of the many reasons she's my favorite skin to this day. I still love running Sidewinder and continue to do so for as long as I play Fortnite.

Solid video, I totally agree with all the points you made here. I also think the overtime challenges gave players such a different skin from what the original Battle Pass, that Epic realized they could just release those skins as Re-Skins in the item shop. (Another small thing, I think the progressive styles actually began in Chapter 2: Season 1 with the 8-Ball vs. Scratch skin. You were able to give Scratch a corrupted style, and he'd get more corrupted the higher level you were. This also played into the lore a bit. In one of the last Storyline Loading Screens we've ever gotten (RIP those, it was really nice being able to follow the story easily each week) we see 8-Ball going to Weeping Woods to fight Scratch. After that loading screen though, we don't know what happened with that story, until that progresses style became available. We believe that Scratch actually won that fight and killed 8-Ball, and since Scratch is the Alter to 8-Ball (aka, the copy), killing the original would slowly kill him too, or in this case, corrupt him. (The originals were called Ego, and the clones were called Alter, but this was changed in rhe next season with Ego becoming GHOST and Alter becoming SHADOW (And SHADOW has a different logo than Alter, but are very similar, and GHOST kept the same logo as Ego).)

Overtime challenges were really good, but i wish they'd just merge overtime with super levels to get cool lore related styles along with the pattern based ones we have now

this is funny timing because i just finished the last battle pass video a few hours ago, great videos by the way.

The overtime variants were always unique while now super level styles are usually just blue purple and yellow and rarely other colors

Most annoying thing to me is how you have to earn style for pickaxes, back blings etc on their own, instead of getting those style as you unlocked it for the skin.

The closest thing we have now are quest rewards

Epic needs to do this: 1. add more cosmetics to the battle pass 2. Replace super level styles with the different styles of the skins 3. Readd overtime challenges 4.HAVE VBUCKS NOT IN BONUS REWARDS

I really dislike the UI for the battlepasses Chapter 4-onward. It feels so soulless, and the battle star system isn’t any better. When you level up, the next page of cosmetics is already open, but you can’t get anything from them if you’re trying to unlock the previous page. I think that for Chapter 6, Epic games should revert or revamp the Battle Pass UI and system once more, bring back Overtime, and put the Vbucks back into the main track of the pass.

Most of the overtime versions of the battlepass skins were amazing. Stuff like Powder, Onesie, Ember, Sidewinder, and Demi those are some amazing overtime variants

I loved the FortBite system giving challenges tied to emotes and sprays in the battle pass itself.

I feel like this can be a perfect solution for the argument that doesn't have much traction anymore: should battle pass skins come back. I feel like if they offered people who already have a specific collab skin, they can at least get 1 more additional style while other people can get the skin but only the og players who played during that season get one more style

Instead of keeping overtime to bring players back after the complete battle pass they pushed what was 1500 v bucks in 100 levels of the battle pass to 1500 vbucks in 125 levels, they pushed back 500 v bucks for no good reason

They still hint to new season sometimes, like Valeria with her geen edit style being around the underworld.

Agreed the overtime challenges were better than superlevel styles. The superlevel styles are in my opinion not so unique because in every season they have the same colors just the name and the texture or animation of the style is changed.

Honestly I hope Fortnite brings back overtime challenges and brings back the progression threw levels that skins like omega had

I’m not a fan of how grindy they want you to be. I’m not all into playing fn anymore, but I accidentally forgot to cancel my crew, so I got the bp. I feel obligated to finish it and get the vbucks, but it takes soooo long. I miss when you could reach tier 100 and that was IT. reaching lvl 140 to get the last of ur vbucks is criminal.

the cloesest thing we have now to overtime challenges are quest rewards in my opinion. They unlock later in the season and you have to complete specific challenges to unlock them. The thing about them though is that they are tied to weekly quests instead of their own overtime challenges. But other than that they're almost identical to overtime rewards.

Uh I think you forgot about quest rewards which you do challenges for and get A new style for 4 different skins in the battle pass with extra things like styles for things like a pickaxe or backbling I guess these are even more forgotten about then overtime rewards even though THERE STILL IN THE BATTLE PASS 🙄
