Murray Gold always wrote a central action piece that he literaly spammed through out a Season of Doctor Who: Series 1 had "Westminster Bridge", Series 3 had "All The Strange, Strange Creatures", Series 5-7 had "I Am The Doctor" and Series 8-10 had "A Good Man?".
"The Fam Takes Action" will be that piece for my rescore. I hope you like it because you gonna hear it a lot.
If you are confused about the rythm and time signature don't worry, I was also confused when I wrote it. Like Murray Gold's "I Am The Doctor", this piece is in a 7/8 time signature. But unlike I Am The Doctor the rythmic structure isn't 2-2-3. It's 3-2-2. Unless you listen to the Guitars. Those are in 2-2-3. The melody is somewhere in between...
This piece makes use of two central themes I will use for Series 11:
00:10 THIRTEEN'S THEME
The reason why this piece is in 7/8. I thought Jodie's Doctor is (or tries to be) quite similar to Matt Smith's portrayal so I wanted to have that in her music as well. Also it fits her "childness" much better than Segun Akinola's Theme (which as of itself, I really reall love). Thirteen's Theme will also get a dedicatet track but I didn't wrote it yet. Like Chris Chibnall, I'm still figuring her out :)
01:09 FAM THEME
Chris said somewhere that his vision of Doctor Who is an assamble show. So instead of giving Graham, Yaz and Ryan individual themes they get a combined theme, here played by accoustic Guitar and Piano (on top of Thirteen's Theme). The Fam Theme will also get it's dedicated track when they enter the TARDIS in "The Ghost Monument".
