A small little detail that I found very sweet: when Vex goes up to Scanlan's room and asks him for help with the broom, he immediately lays off on the charm and gives her problem his full attention. It just goes to show how much they trust each other, despite their quirks.

Percy and Keyleth, sitting beside each other in a lounge in Scanlan’s magnificent mansion, working on his sketchbook and reading her alchemy book. Percy, pausing and turning to Keyleth: We never talk anymore, do we? Keyleth, pausing and turning to Percy: We never do. Percy: Hmm. Both turn back and return to their books in silence.

Can we all just take a minute appreciate how the current story arc is simply a masterpiece? Matt has simultaneously created a huge, worldwide threat while tying together threads from throughout Vox Machina's entire history and personal backstories. He's filling in details that perhaps even the players didn't know while also connecting known things, tracing information and NPCs back and linking them to the current crisis, and really making the worldwide threat bring the world together. The story line is so intricate and perfect that it could easily be a professional video game, yet this is a bunch of nerdy ass voice actors having fun in their spare time (I know they're paid but still, it's definitely not their main job)! It's just incredible. I'm extremely excited for when Vox Machina (hopefully) defeats the Chroma Conclave and what enemy will arise afterward. Once Matt delves into the realm of Gods and Demons, I have no idea what he'll be able to come up with. Keep it up, guys

I am somewhat surprised and rather happy at how often Scanlan brings up Kaylie - I didn't really expect Sam to take this character development arc so seriously

Grog may be a killing machine but I find it kind of sweet he has someone like Pike to anchor him to do what is right. It really adds to his character. And besides I REALLY WANT ASHLEY TO BE THERE FOR GROG'S MOMENT! Also despite being the comedy duo, Grog and Scanlan had alot of character development here.

Scanlan is lowkey the ultimate support character. He is armed with a lot of really usefull spells and a few heavy hitters items. He really turn tides in battle.

My favorite things about this show: - Laura's greed and obsession with magical objects (mostly just how seriously she takes the game) - Sam's charm, wit, and humor - Travis's focus on roleplaying over any metagaming whatsoever - Marisha's earnestness - Taliesin's refinement and creativity

the more hours these guys play, it becomes so obvious how fucking incredible Travis is. he copes with the Grog's limitations nobly and without falter, while managing to exploit them for great storytelling and hilarity at every opportunity. the mastering of the wolf was about the most obvious example in recent episodes how he has the right idea about stuff and uses grog to enact it brilliantly. while all the others were being weak and condescending to this evidently powerful beast he gives it a show of strength and instantly gets results, even then the rest didn't properly get the idea of how this wolf needed to be treated. Grog was always set up to be a funny character but Travis plays him so well that he's the most interesting as well. Respect by the barrel. got to give Sam and Scanlan a mention too, able to turn a mood in an instant in any direction.

When Vex finally made the broom fly and Laura started to sing "Something has changed within me" I DIED.

I don't know why but the mental image of Percy and Keyleth making idle conversation in the lounge while everyone else is doing something productive in the mansion just made me crack up

43:30 - Scanlan says "We should do something to repay the debt," instead of saying they should give the broom back. Then a minute later he says that Vex should let him pick someone to help, and he has a crafty look in his eyes, and he even writes down the promise. I think he had this whole thing mapped out in his head, and he wants to be able to ask Vex to look after his daughter in case of his death, like he presumably did in his secret note to Pike.

The bit about the mist form after talking to Horace just made me realize how amazing of an actor Travis is. When he plays, Travis shuts up because _Grog is talking_.

The real question: DID Horace really like surprises? We never found out.

Hey do you guys remember when Keyleth gave a raven's skull as a present to Percy to remind him and Vox Machina about what they could've become? Well, take a look at Vax. There's now a new Raven Queen's champion because of Percy's action. That's some crazy foreshadowing Keyleth.

Wow, Travis did a great job on Grog's pride in this one. He looked like he would go and confront the Goliaths simply as an act of pride but really was scared to do so. The way he shot down Perry's suggestion about the hat was really well acted.

Hmmm, rolling into a city and starting a revolution...wait, does that mean Scanlan will break out the beret again?

It's amazing how their focus on roleplaying and storytelling instead of big numbers can make one night's rest and a short trip to another place into a 3-hour game.

Scanlan and Craven Edge were basically just playing tug of war on Grog's mind.

I love Sam's roleplay during this episode, especially during the sword scene. He never drops his classic Scanlan smile, but you can tell he shows genuine worry. When he was finally able to hold the sword, and when he gave it back to Grog, you could tell he was genuinely nervous about the unlike him pull he felt while wielding the sword. Best rp, 11/10

I love how during this episode they all reminisced about old battles and encounters they experienced off stream, almost gives the whole place a feeling as if it's alive

Fucking Grog man, I love this dude. And I love how Travis plays his character. Perfect roleplay and excellent strategic thinking from the player, because even though he's forced to play a low intelligence character, he roleplays intelligent decisions as instincts from his life as a warrior.
