Thank you Chris and prayers for your recovery. I just sat down here at 6:25 pm on Sunday and am loading over 8 hours of video footage into my editing program. I hope to get it edited down to a 45 minute video. I will hopefully get it done and uploaded for either a 5:00 central time on Tuesday or Thursday. Stay tuned, this next video has quite a lot going on. Thank you for being a watcher for a long time. Get well soon.

Joe we have Always done our beans 8 inches and the corn 14 inches but that is on a 100 acers of land tho.. If you can find a big corn filed some were near you take a tape measure and walk in filed and measure the stalk to the next stalk.. If you have any farmers near you that plant corn..
@NorthernSeclusion
@NorthernSeclusion 2 ай бұрын
The directions on the package said 9 to 12 inches. I have done them as close as 6 in previous years but 8 seems better and it is an easy number to keep doubling in your head as you work down the tape measure. Bean directions on the package say to plant at 3 and thin to 6. I have planted them as close as 1.5 inches in the past but have found I get a great yield doing them at 3. Like you pointed out though, when you have huge amounts of land, you could change those numbers and still get enough plants in the ground for what you are looking for in a return.

My neighbor behind my property has cows and he just runs barb wire but his posts are 6 feet apart. My other neighbor has many cows as well and sometimes they get out. But he is working on new fence all the time. My place is also fenced but with 6x6 for posts. Cows are pretty strong and so they will find a way out if that's what they want to do. It's better to over fence than under fence. You know with cattle going to the tent will have to be limited cause they need hay in the winter and plenty of water.
@NorthernSeclusion
@NorthernSeclusion 2 ай бұрын
I usually only go to the tent once in the winter and one 1200 pound round bale will do 20 to 25 days for one cow. We will have 2 so 10 days at the least. I am never at the tent more than 4 days. Melissa can easily do the water.

Hey Joe, a suggestion for you. Instead of burning your cardboard, why don’t you lay it down as a weed barrier and create a path around the fence live with cardboard and wood chips or gravel on top? Or get a border of weed mat around the fence line. Way easier to more and having to deal with weeds all the time

ATV's arent ideal for creating a flat, level surface. I use my lawn tractor for a much preferred result. I've stopped using the section of harrow too. I now use a set of bedsprings with a plywood platform for adding weights. I use anthing I find laying around. Cinder blocks, bags of fertilizer, railroad timbers, tractor weights...

If you need more hay you should check with retired farmers in the area. Many want their fields cut. The deal would be that you hay it for the hay. I know guy who did it for several old farms for heor his beef cattle and sold tractor tailers full to a mushroom former. You only need to find enough to handle what you need for your cows
@NorthernSeclusion
@NorthernSeclusion 2 ай бұрын
We will need 20 bales to get us through the non grass months. We want to have 25 to 30 bales here prior to winter. 1200 pound bales of good hay, you can buy for 60.00 a bale from several places here. If I had the equipment I would look for something like you are suggesting but at 60 a bale it will be easy to be ready prior to winter.

If the door was bigger, he would've put the whole cage inside the tractor and let them get out on their own. A little more patience would've been nice to see. It was clumsy but not abusive. Right?
