War of the Windsors. The Feuding Princes. Rift Between Brothers. The media has been fixated on the chasm between Prince William and Prince Harry since their unfortunate falling out. Made all the more difficult and complex by public gaze and media scrutiny. While some challenges have been present in their relationship since childhood, those themes seemed to have worsened over time. Other problems between the brothers, and shifts in Harry's behaviours, contributed to the conflict that grew into the rift we have witnessed worsen in recent years. Many such issues have been attributed to Meghan Markle, having begun when Harry met Meghan.
Prince William and his brother Prince Harry have been locked in a feud for years, but some sources claim the brothers' rift began much earlier. Today's video examines the relationship between the princes, possible starting points of this feud, and contributing factors that drove the wedge further between them as their feud became a Royal Rift.

I became a ward of the court at age 13 due to parental abandonment and abuse. Lived in foster care and group homes whilst working and going to school full time. Graduated at 16.. was ‘emancipated’. Had my own tiny apt… job and car. Still continued higher education and never looked back. Zero sympathy for sparry and his cohort.

Yes, many bad things can happen in a child’s life without ever it being their fault. BUT when you have endless resources, a loving older brother, a father and many other family members and staff who just want to help you in every possible way, you have no excuse. Bad things happen in life but anyone mature enough knows it’s their individual responsibility how they react to it and to learn and better themselves through it. Harry has no excuse for his continuous whining and complaining and blaming anyone but himself at 40 years of age. Unfortunately, as Beebs made the point, his chosen spouse did nothing but foster the worst in him and reinforce his victim mentality and jealousy. This is her toddler syndrome, if you kick and scream long enough eventually you’ll be given everything you want just so you shut up. It’s truly fascinating to see how stunted these 2 are.

Also from a young age Princess Anne worked on her goals (/equestrian). Having focus and striving might have helped Harry through his younger years. Currently he does not appear to have any work ethics unlike Anne, Edward, his mom, His dad, his grandmother and brother

Thank you. It's so familiar, my brother seems so much like Harry, and I only gave up on that toxic, hate filled man after oh, 40 years. I'm patient and hopeful but some people just like being miserable and misery loves company. It loves "creating* the misery. My Mother has Alzheimer's, she's in the hospital right now - guess who showed up after years? If Harry is as much like my brother as I believe he is, William is wise to focus on his wife and children, supporting his father. Life is too short to beg our brothers to love us. I would settle for Stop talking about us.

That is a very good point. In my experience with a familial narc, they do want what YOU have. But it is more important to them , that YOU don't have it. Even more satisfying for them , If they can remove it. It is bizarre and evil, but that is what narcs are. It is their nature.

@@ArchieB133 in fact you could even say that once she had safely married Harry, she was champing at the bit to leave the UK and get back to California. I believe that was her plan all along. She wanted to parade her titles and her Prince so that the A Listers who previously shunned her would all come running. That was why she invited so many celebrities. It was her way of saying "ya boo sucks to be you, look at me now!" And when people like Clooney, Williams and Winfrey were defending her, it must have been like a dream come true for her.

I really don't feel Harry had the deep-rooted jealousy with William and being "the spare" until Meghan came along and made it be an issue. I personally believe that Harry always hated William even as children, hooking up with Meghan just gave him the courage to show his true face. The jealous, spiteful bully that is Harry has always been there but without the Palace PR machine we are finally seeing him. I also think he targeted Catherine due to wanting the “cool and perfect girl next door” partner has well. What he doesn’t realize that a big part of why Catherine is “perfect” is not only her upbringing but also her heart, mind and soul matches William’s. Harry just grabbed the first woman who was ok with the spotlight. Harry didn’t realize that being in love is only one aspect of a healthy relationship. You have to like the person and have similar outlooks, values and goals. But Harry isn’t a smart man which he has proved over and over again so even a relationship is too hard for him. I know what it is like to not be the smartest or the most successful of my siblings but I take comfort in the fact that being different is ok because I have a unique place in my family that my siblings cannot fill because they are different people.

I am a 70 year old f who remembers Diana well! She was very proud of both of her boys, but she was raising them to be there for each other! Harry was supposed to be the one person that would be there for William when he became King! He was supposed to have his brother's back! I hate that Harry has let this woman take over Diana's legacy! There is nothing about her that was like Diana! She loved people, she loved children, and she would have seen this woman for what she was! This has to be put to the British Royal Family’s PR spin. Looking at the Royal website and Harry is a pilot and ‘hero of Afghanistan’ yet it would be his own claims of ‘ferrying dead bodies’ and ‘24 kills’ that it took Harry’s own Commander to reiterate that Bunker Harry had SIX GUARDS, 24/7, and being ‘deeply embedded at the back of the camp ‘for his safety far from any battle.’ All he did was get high and play Call of Duty video games. Even the Afghans came out with an ‘answer’ about Harry’s paranoia that ‘he’d be killed for revenge.’ There was a front page with soldiers laughing about Harry being called ‘Back Home To Queen Granny.’ However the spin machine DID NOT CHANGE what they claim. In Harry’s drugged state and being as stupid as he is, he’d rather BELIEVE THE LIE. Even ‘ferrying bodies’ was two of his guards in body bags after the camp experienced their first attack because Brainless Prince got a media outlet to do a story on him. It’s where we get most pics of him SITTING in the passenger side of the Apache helicopter. When the story was published, they were attacked and his two guards died protecting HIM. It’s when the Queen did bring Harry back home, much to his chagrin. ‘It’s the most fun I’ve had in my WHOLE life!’ I doubt those soldiers’ families would see it the same way.

Harry is a hypocrite…. He says the ‘Palace’ always looked out for William but not him….he seems to forget that for years the ‘Palace’ kept dozens of stories out of the Uk media, covered up for him several times. He was happy to have the “palace’ on his side then. His wife started complaining about negative media coverage only…only…. After she was actually ignored here at first. She used to go on walkabouts, going in and out of Kensington palace, just hoping to be ‘spotted’ and ‘papped’. No-one knew who the hell she was, and no-one cared. Once she stared behaving badly, rudely etc then the media started pointing that out….suddenly she didn’t like the media and felt victimised. Please, the hypocrisy of these 2 is mind boggling, they want a normal life but they won’t give up the titles, they want their kids to live a normal life, but they won’t give up the titles….bit of a theme here. I for one will never forget how ill Prince Phillip was at the time of the Oprah interview, how the Netflix series was originally going to be aired while the late Queen was still alive and how even now, with both the King and the Princess of Wales facing serious health issues, they still can’t just get on with their own lives and stop vying for attention whenever the RF are doing anything in the media. It’s disgraceful behaviour and yet they still have supporters’ out there, I just don’t get it.

Even back then, Princess Anne had the maturity to recognise she represents the monarchy. Harry on the other hand wanted the adoration of the crowd as well as the glory. I absolutely agree with you! Look at the different views the brothers have when it came to conservation. William wanted to give the power of making things better to the people. He wanted to give support behind the scenes until he was sure the people had the ability to continue to do good works on their own. He understands that if you become too hands on with too many projects, you wear yourself thin and every project suffers. He wanted the credit to go to the people, he wanted the people to feel the pride of a job well done! Harry, on the other hand, wants to be out in front, cameras aimed at him for his five minutes of hands on work. But, what happens when he leaves to the next project? The people who would benefit from the conservation are left stagnant because they weren't given the tools and proper support to continue along the correct path. Harry still thinks that way, you can tell by all the failed attempts of "projects" he's had since leaving the BRF. When it's all new and shiny, he's all about it. Once the glimmer wears off and the real work is to begin, he's nowhere to be found! TO and TOW have a very me-centric view of the world. Their main concern is always "what's in it for me?", not "how can we do something that benefits many?" That is why they didn't fit in with the royal family. It's a life of service to others, not others serving you!

Of course he didn't know she would be killed in a car crash, but I think his regret feeds his trauma. It's unfortunate that therapy hasn't seemed to work for him.

I was about 6 years old when my father left me, my mum, and sibling, peniless and without a house even, for another woman and a life full of vices. My father may not have died but I had to live a life where I couldn't even live out my childhood and had to grow up quickly, I couldn't have what most kids did, and I had to watch as my mother and her family spoiled my older sibling more. My older sibling has grown up to be a lot like Harry with the whole victim narrative and going after women who are no good. I, personally listened to my mother's advice and grew up to be more mature and not spend time thinking about what could have been but focused on improving my life and not making it dependent on anyone. Personally, I don't think the age during the trauma matters, but the choices made by an individual after said trauma. William made his choice to follow his family's advice and pick out a proper woman. While Harry never grew out of his childishness and choose to do everything his own way, and if it didn't work out it was other people's fault. Trauma usually just shows people the result of what happens if you make wrong choices, if you still continue to make wrong choices, then that's all your fault not your circumstances or the other people, no matter how old you were during said trauma.

I seem to remember that the Gloucesters were going to move out and the place was to refurbished for the Sussexes and it was as big as, if not bigger than, William and Catherine's appt. I assumed that William had vetoed having a camera-happy Meg in such close proximity to his family. They have both grown up and matured. Years of drug & alcohol abuse will do that, especially when it includes the regular use of hallucinogens like magic mushrooms & LSD, in the name of "therapy" that his equally deranged wife & ex con mother in law convinced him should replace the standard therapy he had been getting for a couple years by the time they met, thanks to William & Catherine's encouragement, that had been yielding positive results. I think Harry deep down was always a shit person. Megsy fed into & encouraged the worst parts of Harry's personality traits to come out . She didn't change him, really, but what she did do is prove to the world how marrying & starting a family with the wrong person can negatively impact your life & destroy your future. Harry's future is destroyed. Even if he divorced MM, I highly doubt William or Catherine will EVER let him within 100 feet of them or their kids, without armed security in between. All of the bridges he burned will never be entirely repaired because he will always be seen as someone who betrayed the people who loved him the most for money. He will never be seen as someone anyone could trust, entirely. What's even sadder is H&M already ruined their kids lives has far as destroying their chances to have relationships with their extended families on both sides of the Atlantic. Archie & Lli will grow up one day & they will come to realize how selfish their parents were in keeping them from getting to know both granddads, 1 of whom was a king. It's such a shame.

There is an old saying “ say what you like about me but leave my family out of it” Harry crossed a line when he spoke about POW that was a red rag to a bull with Prince William, when the children were dragged into it then it became all out war, no father or husband is going to allow that to go. Thanks for sharing some very important points about Harry's conduct. IMHO, we need to hold Harry far more accountable. He's had choices to do good with respect to his family, or to do evil. He didn't choose good and like all choices, he has to face the consequences. No one else is responsible for his choices and the consequences that have and will result. In no way does Harry get a pass for his just outright crappy behavior - something we've learned has been happening for far too many years and not only includes his treatment of people, but even more egregiously, his treatment of animals, as evidenced by the reports of his injuring polo ponies on occasion. I recall that one injury resulted in the death of the one pony.

This was shown on the news at the time, but nothing was said about it then. Everyone went on about “that poor little boy” at Diana’s funeral yet William was there grieving too. It’s always been about Harry, he is a spoiled, spiteful, self aggrandising piece of work, I would be more than happy if he disappeared and never came back.

If henry wants his children to be included in the Line of Succession the people of the UK and other countries with Charles, formerly the late Queen Elizabeth II, as Head of State have a right to be sure that any children of henry and the meg are legally entitled to be treated as such. There is so much secrecy and not following procedure about the invisikids. Where was the notice for the birth of both children by all the medical professionals in attendance confirming the birth of the children from the body of the meg? What happened about the US doctor who suddenly ceased business and seemingly disappeared? Why are no reputable journalists digging into this mystery? And the story of the apparent birth of Archie by henry which was ridiculed by the medical profession? Also henry exclaiming 2 days after the birth how much babies change in 2 weeks! It has previously been reported the meg stated they are only a plane crash away from being on the throne. As a Brit I find that chilling. I also find the lack of scrutiny by any and all mainstream media chilling. Sorry for the ramble.

This quote from Prince William has always stuck in my mind and I agree that this was where he finally washed his hands of his little brother. Prince William knows H better than anyone. They grew up together in the same dysfunctional household and we can now see that PW dealt with his own thoughts and feelings and learned that positive change comes from within. H seems to have gone the opposite way and become more and more bitter and resentful toward the people whom he holds responsible for his own negative thoughts and feelings. William and Catherine are college sweethearts. I’m sure if William were born to a more normal family they would’ve married much sooner. He took so long because he didn’t want to repeat the breakup of his parents marriage, but also let Catherine decide if she wanted and could handle being the wife of the heir and one day monarch. How he handled his marriage was not just incredibly mature, but also shows so much love, kindness and respect to Catherine. Saying he married her because she “fit a mold” was so insulting to both of them. I think William has really begun to move on, especially with all the family health crises this year. I don’t think he has room in his life for the petty games that the Cali duo continue to play - see Harry’s jibing statement about Charles not seeing him last trip and the recent Sussex friendly US publications that claim what type of cancer Charles has & that he has 2 years to live.

They want apologies for not protecting Meghan from the press, something that the R F doesn’t have control over the tabloids. They also want apologies for not helping Meghan adjust to the family, even though Meg said in the announcement interview that she didn’t need any help, Harry would tell her everything.. Harry was not a good coach. Samantha Cohen said it best, “ it’s like working with teenagers.”

The paradox is that William could have good reasons to envy his younger brother, always cuddled, protected and spoiled because the younger and because all the family tried to compensate him for not being the Heir. This younger brother with the same privileges, but no responsabilities. This brother with a freedom that the future King couldn't even dream. While since babies, William was asked to be perfect, to be more mature than his own age, to work harder than anyone else, controlled in any single step, prevented to do a lot of things because the Heir simply can't. William was thought from the very first day that he must work harder than anyone else to conquer the respect of his people. For Harry instead "just be nice and funny, and trying not to give extra work to the palace aids doing something stupid" (something he regularly did, and the Palace aides had to put a lot of effords to cover him...). The one who should be jealous for different treatments in childhood and youth is William. But childhood is something far behind, as grown men they should have moved on from that. The problem is that William did, his effords and his growing responsabilities have forged him in a adult, a decent, mature man, focused on his job and his family. Harry instead didn't. He is still a whinging little boy struggling from adults's approval. Reading "Spare" is a shocking experience, listening this privileged man of almost 40 complaining about smaller portions at breakfast and the size of the bedrooms Is akward... I think that probably it does make no sense to speak about a rift between them. A rift is something between two persons at the same level. Here we simply have instead man-child who doesn't accept to grow up and makes tantrums, and doesn't forgive his brother for having instead become an adult...

I think the constant association between Princess Diana and Meg that they insist upon making is so insulting. Why should William, or any of the public, agree that someone who holds such a low moral compass, such selfish, rude, pompous and self righteous behaviour, be considered by anyone as being in any league whatsoever as to that of Princess Diana? It must absolutely disgust Prince William for having his mother's name tarnished by even being compared to such a toxic, ugly character as Meg. It's the height of disrespect and must cause William genuine heartache.

I believe that Prince William was lucky to have Princess Catherine and the Middleton family to give him some perspective on how another family works, William made certain his relationship with Catherine was solid, and that she was prepared to become a future Queen, and remember Princess Catherine was hounded and stalked and had her phone messages hacked, and still decided to go forward.

Harry will never be on par with Prince William … same as MM will never be on par with Princess Catherine. Siblings will always be competitive. The main differences between the brothers are Harry’s inability to apply himself, his inability to mature into an adult, his deep jealousy of William, his lust for power, his excessive pride, his inability to do his royal duty, his inflated sense of power, his ambitious greed, his unhealthy obsession about Diana and Harry’s undiagnosed & untreated mental illnesses. William has had a healthy ability and path to adapt to his mother’s s death and to royal responsibilities. When one compares how the 3 Grimaldi children, who lost their mother, Princess Grace of Monaco, in a fatal car accident adapted & healed following her death vs Harry’s dysfunctional reactions … one must then address Harry’s state of mind. His erratic behaviour suggests that his insatiable ambition & revenge have become a dangerous obsession (writing ‘Spare’, suing others, corrupt motivations, flying into white-hot-rage, etc.). He further demonstrates his hubris by repeatedly overstating his lies and delusional sense of power.

I was the oldest and my younger brother was so jealous even in childhood, but when he married it got so bad that I just walked away. By the time his toxic wife was done, he had a fallout with my mother and sister. He may be my brother on record, but that's it. The family is much happier without the drama and having to listen to all the perceived petty slights. It wasn't my fault I got one more present at Christmas, or that I was closer to our grandparents than him. By the way 60 plus years later he still brings up how unfair it was. We all believe his wife stoked the fire, not sure why nor do we care.

The only reports are on HER, she’s in an apartment in Culver City near the WME headquarters, ironic since they didn’t renew her contract with them. She is living alone, no reports of Doria, kids or Markus Anderson. Harry, is SAID to be in San Francisco near the Better Up headquarters, also alone. Netflix contract is up in 2025, so they may openly start the divorce of the month😆

When someone doesn’t achieve anything the only person to be blamed is themselves. The fact that Harry blamed and still blames everyone but himself. Considering that Harry was brought up knowing the rules, I cant believe he still doesn’t get it. As far as the advice William gave to Harry to get to know Megan was brotherly advice. The fact that Harry saw this as dislike for Megan is just an example of how he believes everybody is against the two of them. The late Queen broke one of her own rules, inviting Megan to spend Christmas with family before they were married. William and Catherine’s children are usually only seen at official family events. And this makes their appearances all the more special.

It’s clear the things The Royal’s find most precious are their privacy and time with loved ones. PH was never technically a SPARE! According to the British Monarchy Chart, when PH was born he was third in line to the throne. Charles then Prince of Wales was 1st in line to the throne. Prince Willam was second in line to the throne. When Charles become King. Prince William became 1st in line, Prince George became second, Princess Charlotte, became third, Prince Louis became fourth and Prince Harry became fifth in line to the throne. I believe it was the Press who erroneouly referred to PH as the spare.

It was his mother who jokingly called Harry “the spare”. It a riff on primogeniture where the second son is the spare in case something happens to the heir. The press ran with it but again not seriously. Harry decided to take it seriously after his marriage suddenly saying he was spare body parts for his brother.

No, Diana teased Harry as a child calling him her " little spare". Each generation the Monarch was expected cted to have a Heir and Spare child. So simply because QE 2 ,I've ane tremendous long life doesn't negate the next generations responsibilities. Diana wanted one child, but was expected to have the second. So your imaginary twisting of generations, doesn't make the " oddity" true.

@@joywebster2678 Heir and Spare applied to all aristocrat families for hundreds of years. If you didn’t have an heir then your immediate family lost all entailed properties and associated monies. If there wasn’t a cousin or some other male relative then all properties reverted to the crown. It was often quoted that it was the duty of every wife to have an heir and spare. After that she could have affairs. The monarchy didn’t have its own specific rule as you can see they rarely accomplished the heir and spare. Diana did make jokes calling Harry a “backup” and “spare” but Harry claims it was his father. Diana’s own words to her biographer and letters prove Harry’s story to be untrue. Diana also said in interviews that both she and Charles wanted a girl after William. It’s always been reported that Diana wanted a large family. I think she would have had more children if things had been different.

It’s so interesting how these brothers took the trauma of their mothers death and reacted so differently. William took his time and made sure the woman he married was really for Royal and public life because his mother obviously did not handle it well, but Harry married a woman who is trying to replicate his mother in every way possible.

I’m sure they both suffered. Maybe Harry did more, who’s to say. But I think Meghan exacerbated the trauma for him (and continues to do so - in many ways). I don’t know if we’d hear so much about it if he weren’t egged on by his wife. Same with the security crap. I can’t help but wonder if it’s really M pushing the issue. I truly think he really wanted a private life. I could be wrong. But he’s so gullible and seems to be the one trying to make M’s demands happen.

I'm afraid that Harold has totally no chance of William ever accepting him back, Harry has poured out far too much spite in public, insulting his family, giving out private family information etc to ever regain the trust of his family. Well said! Harry is a child and Meghan is a teenager. I think Harry observed and absorbed Diana's histrionics and he thinks he's actually sticking up for her, or being "more" her son, by behaving in the same manner. And Meghan feeds right into that. Charles needs to protect the Waleses, and the monarchy, from Harry and Meghan. I hope he is doing something behind the scenes to take the titles.

Meghan, from all I have seen and heard, has been a toxic element in the lives of her father, sister and brother, in the lives of the men she has had relationships with, including Trevor, in all of the so called friendships she has had with other females and toward every member of the Royal Family, including Harry. Harry, though, was forewarned by his grandfather, Prince Phillip and by his brother, Prince William, not to go so quickly into marriage. Actually, I believe Prince Phillip told Harry that one might go out with an actress but one doesn't marry an actress. Obviously, the jealously and envy Harry has toward William since childhood is an unnatural one to still be so jealous of his brother when he is supposedly a grown man.

One of the most horrid things about Harry's behavior especially was that Catherine and Harry seemed to have such a great relationship pre-Megan. There were so many pictures of the two of them laughing together, apparently teasing each other, and appearing to enjoy each other's company. I think Harry even called Kate the "big sister he had never had," and spoke of how she and William had been so supportive of him. That bond is completely broken now.

Megan & Doria were invited up to Sandringham for Christmas before Harry and Meghan were married. The middletons weren't invited to Christmas till I believe was 5 years after William and Catherine got married.
