Great video!! Gen Polk is a distant relative. I want to drive up and visit the sites. Where can I find the church with the earthworks . Thanks a bunch

Glad you enjoyed the video! The church is almost directly across the street from the road that goes to the monument. Here is the address: 3450 Stilesboro Rd NW, Kennesaw, GA 30152 There is a parking lot to the side of the church and the earthworks are in the woods behind the playground.

Militaria Reviewed thank you very much. I also had relatives there when it happened- with the 5 Washington artillery. - and others close by with 36 Alabama and 39 Mississippi- civil war history is addictive. Thank you again

Thank you for the history lesson about Lt. General Polk. I'm always interested in anything related to Gen. Leonidas Polk as my wife is originally from Leesville, Louisiana. Fort Polk is just down the road a short way.

Glad you enjoyed the video! This is one of my favorite lesser-known events of the civil war. General Polk was quite an interesting person, respected and admired by men on both sides.
