The Order of the Red Star is my favorite Soviet award, in this short video I will show you why.

Love these - they’re very collectible. Another notable difference between wartime and postwar variants is the medal in the centre. The soldier tends to be leaning further forwards in examples from the 50s onward, with his budenovka being under the T rather than the C. His foot is also turned out towards our left more, whereas wartime variants have his foot pointing towards us. The lettering I believe also changed slightly, although that may have just came with newer award regulations ( no longer wearing the red star at every moment)

I got one with number 504470 seems issued during 1943. Don’t know how to find its owner

they are cool. I got a "cheaper" one, where one tip of the star is was damaged (the enamel on it) and then fixed. I will most likely buy some more of them. Thank you for this video, subscribed....

I love the topics. Especially when there is no one around me that are in to the same interests that I have. At least I can have some kind of comradeship when I watch this type of media. You have beautiful specimens in the form of cannon rounds. After many years of searching, I too come across a once in a life time opportunity to acquire some of these WW2 antique and authentic cannon rounds. So far, I have 3 out of 4 that are the real deal cannon rounds. Keep up with this type of interesting material ⭐️😊

Glad that you like the videos and thanks for supporting the channel! It is definitely difficult to find people who are also interested in these items. That is one of the reasons why I started making these, because I had no one to talk to about them! Thanks for complementing my aircraft cannon rounds, those are hard to find! It took a long time to build my collection of those but I am very proud of it. Good luck with your collection!

Maybe I will make one on the entire collection at some point. I am working on a video right now about the MG 151 and it will include a section with my 20x82mm cartridges. I wish there was a way to share pictures in the comments so I could show you my cannon cartridges.

@@MilitariaReviewed Hopefully in a month or so I will have the MG 151 cartridge . As of now , one of the cartridges I have is a 20x82. Beautiful round and one of my favorites. I will, eventually, get just about all of the rounds I wanted that were used in WW2. The problem I have is to acquire the Soviet ShVAK 20 mm cannon round. When I do find one it is too expensive. Maybe we can help one another if you would like.

@@markelalagoz7363 best of luck acquiring the MG 151 cartridge. I have a single ShVAK cartridge, an HEI round. It was difficult to find but I got it for a good price. Send me an email sometime and I can put you in touch with the man I bought it from.

Hey, where can I find info or look up info of a serial number? Im trying to find who my red star was issued to!

These two sites have information about serial number ranges, issue dates based on serial numbers, and variations of the Order of the Red Star: mondvor.narod.ru/ORStar.html www.aukedevlieger.nl/ranges.htm#ors To find out exactly who your Red Star belonged to you will have to pay someone to pull the records from Russian military archives. That's how I got the information about one of mine. If your serial number shows it was issued before 1946 then it is worth it to have the records pulled.

@@MilitariaReviewed Where would I go to contact someone to find me the russian archives?? I've had a look at my serial number and Im fairly certain its from 1943!

@@leoproductions5349 There are a few different people who do it. This is who I used: sovietorders.com/our-services/researching-soviet-awards/ I am not sure if the war has affected access to the archives though, just something to keep in mind. 1943 is a promising year!
