Arsenal had a dip midseason. There is a price that comes with having a better defence. Rice just can’t play progressive passes like Partey would do. And as a team, we stopped playing such a high line as we did last season in exchange for a better defence. When Partey was injured, we have no solution playing against teams that park the bus. We are forever passing between Rice and our defenders. Especially if we can’t play Zinchenko as well, the situation gets even worse. The quality of our possession, buildup play, ball progression and chance creation were nonexistent. Except for Haaland, it is very clear that ManCity players are so much more skillful on the ball than Arsenal players. ManCity is clearly better than Arsenal. But what Arsenal do, doing things the right way, is what I respect them for. We can be proud that we are the best team in England among the clubs that didn’t breach FFP.

The period before January also counts towards the title. Arteta made few mistakes this year. Playing Partey at Right back, Gabriel on bench when we drew against Fulham and playing Havertz in midfield while Partey and Jorginho were on bench against Villa. Very good point. Zinchenko also gave the ball away at the very end which Fulham equalized from corner. That was the easiest 2 points we threw away this season that could have gotten us over the line

Not luck but winning mentality which is something lacking in Arsenal team since invincible squad.

You create your own luck by having players who make the difference in the the opposition box and your own box. We have that in defense aside from the left side which hopefully will not be an issue when Timber is fully back. We do not have that in attack yet as we didn't score a single goal in 4 different matches. That's not good enough for a team that wants to win the title competing with the juggernaut that is City. A few goals in those games give us more points which would count now.

You say those seasons get forgotten but they clearly haven’t been cos they’re always mentioned And yeah ‘when’ you bottle it obviously matters. Because ‘bottling’ refers to delivering results that fall below a standard previously set that can only be explained by larger pressure. We can talk about feelings and etc, but the end result is SAME. If you want to go vs city or Liverpool, you have to be on point thoughout the season, not just 1st half or second half, and thats precisely what Liverpool did in their pl winning season. Thats the standard these days. We can also argue on the reasons for it (bottling, losing, not having enough, whatever you want to call it), I personally think the manager has to definitely take at least some of the blame with the squad selection decisions he made. Now just to be clear I ve never been part of the arteta out club but at the same time , whereas I expected arsenal to win the league at the beginning of the season until I realized that arteta wasn't serious enough, I don't think arteta wins the league next year, I just think other teams will be better next season. I do think that arsenal still get pts in mid 80s next season but that s unlikely to be enough, maybe season after next will be the one. I think we had a good chance to do it this year and didn't take it, while next year we may not get this chance, city are capable of getting close to 100 pts you have to remember

I didn’t even mention Jesus because I, personally, don’t think he’s good enough to start for us again (unless he sorts himself out). He’s arguably the most wasteful striker I’ve seen in decades, and I have absolutely had it with him. Martinelli is still 22 and has gone through a bad spell. I back him to bounce back next season.

Also helps when refs only give them fouls for stoppage of play but when they do it it’s play on
