The transformation is amazing. Keep up the great work and know that many of your viewers. Look forward to upcoming videos that you put out. Fingers crossed that the weather cooperates and you’re able to get the project done on your timeline. Also can’t wait to see the garden be planted and grow. Maybe consider using coverings on the bottom of your fruit trees so the wildlife don’t nibble on the bark.

I’m just curious and/or ignorant of why the slab is poured after the structure was built? Is there a particular reason why? Keep up with the great work! I enjoy your posts!
@TriStarHomestead
@TriStarHomestead 4 күн бұрын
Typically in post frame the building is put up first and then the concrete is installed. The posts sit on footer or a stem wall and concrete done after the building goes up.

It's odd to see someone do dirt work this far and n to the build so is sewer and water pile get installed ass backwards also like after you pour cement
@TriStarHomestead
@TriStarHomestead 2 ай бұрын
It’s not really backwards for post frame. Plumbing will go in before the slab and septic can go in whenever really.

When does the roofing go on?? All the rain on the grey boards can’t be good for it, how long is it able to be exposed to the weather Great job though your doing a great job 😊
@TriStarHomestead
@TriStarHomestead 2 ай бұрын
Hopefully soon! Need to finish the front porch before I can do the metal roof. The boards have a six month exposure rating so we will be fine.

I have been wondering why you have not installed a ridge cap on the top of your roof? When it rains it must be letting some water in?
@TriStarHomestead
@TriStarHomestead 2 ай бұрын
There is some water coming in but it’s not too bad. We can’t do the ridge cap until we put the metal roof on and we can’t do that until we finish the porches. We had dry weather this week so we decided to get the equipment here so it wouldn’t tear things up. Metal roof soon though.

Can you tell me why did it's this kind of concrete floor instead of just pouring the slab Seems like it's so much more work and time consuming and everything else. I know there's a reason for it but it just can't figure it out.
@TriStarHomestead
@TriStarHomestead Күн бұрын
We haven't done the concrete floor yet but a pole barn sits on a foundation wall or footers (we did footers), then the building is assembled. We will be adding vapor barrier, insulation and radiant heat and then the concrete floor can be poured on top. There are no load bearing walls in post frame construction other than the outside walls so you need to have footers dug deeper than just what a slab would offer as done in typical stick built construction.
