The descending rep pattern of this workout allows you to continue to push at full intensity all the way through to crank your metabolism sky high for up to 38 hours after you leave the gym while building lean muscle along the way.

For this workout, you’ll be performing a ladder style workout that follows a descending rep pattern.
This is an elite training technique used by top athletes and physique competitors to test your limits of conditioning and skyrocket your metabolism hours after you finish.
You’ve got 5 exercises to perform in circuit fashion - that’s where the five in the name comes from.
You should pick a weight that is about 50% of your 1 Rep Max for clean & presses, and use that same weight for this entire workout.
For example, if you can clean and press 80Lb dumbbells, you’ll use 40Lb for this workout.
For set 1, you’ll perform 10 reps of each exercise.
Set 2, you’ll perform 9 reps each exercise.
Set 3, 8 reps - and so on.
You’ll continue until you reach your 5th set, where you’ll perform 5 reps for each exercise.
By the time you make it to your 5th set, you will have performed 45 reps of each exercise - and that’s why we call this the Five-45™!
Your goal is to complete this workout in under 30 minutes, so you should keep your rest times as short as possible.

Exercise #1: Clean & Press
The Clean & Press is a powerful compound movement that combines a hinge, pull and press all in one to hit the back, shoulders, arms and core. Dip down, shrug the weight up to your shoulders, brace the core and drive the weight directly overhead explosively, then control back down and repeat.
Exercise #2: Goblet Squat
To set up, grab a dumbbell or two and hold the weight against your chest, then as you squat down you want to go as low as possible, keeping your knees on the outside of your elbows and torso. Then explode up driving through your heels.
This squat variation helps teach proper alignment of the knees and makes it easier to get lower in the squat for a complete range of motion. To make it more challenging and to light up the core, extend your arms all the way out in front of you as you descend to the bottom of the squat and pull back in as you raise back up to the top.
Exercise #3: Bent Over Dumbbell Row
Keep your torso parallel to the ground - and brace your core. A little body english is ok on this exercise - but still keep the movement as controlled as possible. Row the weight up to your mid stomach, pulling with your elbows, and control the weight back down and repeat.
Exercise #4: Dumbbell Curls
Stand with dumbbells at your sides, curl them up at the same time rotating your palm towards the ceiling as you raise to the top. Squeeze your biceps at the top then lower back down under control, fighting the flex on the way back down. Fast, explosive concentric, slow controlled eccentric.
Exercise #5: Floor Chest Flyes
Keep your elbows fairly locked, stretch down and bring your arms up. If you’re struggling with this exercise - just think about hugging a big tree - that’s the form you want to use on these to really squeeze your pecs.

Just completed this workout: 35lbs dumbbells in 19:52. Like the rep pattern 10-9-8-7-6-5. Will use heavier weight for legs on my next workout

I’ve doing a similar exercise like this one for almost a month now. These exercises fit my budget lol plus I only one pair of dumbbells but I am juiced to start this one for a few weeks or maybe even alternate between them

Great one! 50lbs except for 30 on curls. 27:10. Will try 40lbs next time for all movements including curls. 50 was rough on clean and press and flys...lol.

To build a defined chest, you need to build the muscle mass in your chest and reduce body fat. If you're following this workout and increasing weight over-time to achieve progressive overload you can definitely accomplish both.

You can perform this on separate days from regular weight training, in place of your cardio. Or after your standard weight lifting routine. 💪🔥

​Blue Star Nutraceuticals hi guys, did the workout yesterday, it was good, but, tomorrow when I do it, I shall use larger dumbells.. I started two weeks ago barely able to squat and now I am doing goblet squats with 7 Kg weights, the knee pain that I had during our winter (Australia mate!!!) has disappeared. You've sold me, so this Blade product where do I get it in Australia? Thank you for your help !!! God Bless America

Looking to try this out but do i do it like this - exercise 1 - 2 - 3- 4 -5 for 9 reps then repeat for 8 reps and so on, or exercise 1 for 9 reps, 8 reps, 7 reps till i get to 5 then move on to exercise 2

The first way you said it. You do all exercises for 10 reps, then all exercises for 9 reps, then each exercise for 8 reps etc.

Hi I have been working out for strength for 45 mins n then HIIT FOR 30 to 35 mins... I wanted know if I do split strength training ONE DAY and HIIT EXERCISE OTHER WILL IT HELP IN BURNING FAT. OR DO I DO BOTH STRENGTH TRAINING AND HIIT ON SAME DAY PLZ SUGGEST. THANKS

You can do either. If you're able to train with higher intensity separating your strength training and HIIT days, than that will be best. If you're short on time though and have to do them both on same day. Focus on strength training first, then follow up with HIIT.

I'm 40 years old and started bodybuilding from 2 months. I have dumbbells, barbell, and bench in my home and I can't afford gym, trainer and supplements to be honest. Can I do this awesome workout 3 days /week and still get bigger muscles while burning fat or better to keep doing the regular compound exercises with 3 sets - 10 reps?

All that's required for muscle growth, is training with intensity frequently and achieving progressive overload over time. So if you're gradually increasing your weights and improving strength, you're going to build muscle. That being said, you'd be able to achieve quicker results following one of our workout routines specifically designed for hypertrophy and muscle growth, and then replacing your cardio with these faster fat loss workouts each week for fat burning.

Great to hear Utku! Let us know how it goes when you give it a shot. As for the calories burned, it will be different for every body. However, you shouldn't worry about the calories burned during the workout. It's all about raising the metabolic rate and burning calories the other 23hours of the day! 🔥💪

Did this workout first time 30lb dumbells and never felt the burn like this while trying to do other body circuits. Though I miss triceps in this workout kindly advise how we can hit triceps.

Definitely. As long as you increase weight/intensity over time to achieve progressive overload. You can build some quality lean muscle while burning excess body fat.

You can definitely do this workout. Start with 3 days per week and adjust from there. Also always a good idea to talk with doctor prior to any nutrition or exercise changes.

2nd time doing this workout. 35lbs-19:52 40lbs 2nd workout-20:40. Curls not easy had to rest after rows before a couple of times.

Best channel!!!! Just finished this one...loved it. I used the 35 dumbells Took 28 mins Use the elevation training mask during the whole workout. Fucking loved it👊
