Wow this video is BY FAR the easiest to understand and the best short explanation of what FODMAPS are. I really appreciate this.

I have been doing a version of the Fodmap for IBS and multiple intolerances: -no cruciferous veggies(intolerance) -No breads or gluten(intolerance) -no eggs(intolerance) -No dairy (intolerance) -no added sugar or high sugar items -no fried foods -no beans -no carbonated stuff(makes me gassy) Etc It has helped a LOT. I get a lot of gas pains and EXCESSIVE embarrassingly stinky gas if I don't cut these foods out (think farting 50+ times a day). I am not afraid to admit it at this point. I eat: -rice, quinoa, millet, corn meal, oatmeal -spinach, squash, pumpkin, sweet potatoes, carrots, a bit of kale, tomatoes, bell peppers, a bit of garlic here and there, lettuce, pickles, olives -meat, poultry, fish and occasionally tofu which I use as a ricotta substitute -non-dairy cheeses -bannanas, strawberries, blackberries, plantains, raspberries, cranberries, cantelope, grapefruit -sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, hemp seeds and sesame seeds -small amounts of coffee, tea, flavored water, diet juices and so on

When my IBS was at its absolutely worst, to the point where I felt that I couldn't enjoy eating at all anymore because I was always afraid of what it would do to me, I went on this diet strictly and it healed my gut. I didn't have to stay on it forever. I now know that, the more I can avoid these foods, the better I feel. If I am going to indulge in one of them, I am able to choose when and where so I am prepared for the consequences. Some of you see this information as oppressive but I see it as empowering because, when I found out about FODMAPS, I was finally able to eat without pain and control how I felt.

What did you eat ?
@Kayobsession3 жыл бұрын
@@bernardinsaintpierre9555 you can find recipes online. I'm on this diet right now too for my IBS and I can eat relatively normal things. Eggs, oatmeal, potatoes, or bacon for breakfast, any sandwich meat on gluten free bread for lunch (or a salad), and then there are all sorts of recipes for mac and cheese, spaghetti, meat dishes, tacos, etc for dinner. You just have to make everything from scratch instead of buying premade sauces and mixes. A little inconvenient, but it beats being in pain all the time and I've learned how to cook really well since starting the diet.

It isn't a weightloss diet unlike half the bullcrap on youtube. It is a diet aka temporary change of eating habits meant to help people identify different gastrointestinal intolerances to help reduce symptoms of IBS or other disorders. If you notice on the phase where you re-introduce dairy that dairy makes you unwell, you might have a dairy intolerance. If broccoli makes you gas up a storm or have diarrhea, you are probably unable to properly digest cruciferous veggies. This helps people figure out what exactly is causing problems for them, rather than just pushing medications first.
