If you have a newer truck try to get them to cover it it is a recall now if you can’t then that’s where you start to try to fix it

My '19 F250 6.2 just got back from the shop for the death wobble. Before hand I got under and found the ball joint on the pitman arm was severely worn and popped up and down. Also joint on passenger side drag link looked warn. The truck has always had excessive bump steer and only has 17K on the odometer and I baby the truck. The dealer ended up replacing the dampener, the drag link, and the tie rod. Also did an alignment and rotated the tires. My drive home felt better than when it was new so I suspect the revised dampener is stronger. We'll see how long this lasts. Glad I bought the extended warranty otherwise only the dampener would have been replaced under their "customer satasfaction" program and the rest would be my bill.

I have a 2011 f350sd 4x4 lariat and mine started the wobble last spring..i changed ball joints upper and lower both sides, slowed it but still did it, changed steering stabilizer, it helped but still no go. Then just a few days ago i changed the trackbar and balljoint. Pain in the ass by the way, but I think that did it. No wobble, steering feels tighter. Hopefully it stays that way. You'd think ford would just bend over and take it..make the recall ya cheap bastards.

2016 F 250 Death Wobble is caused by a Number of things. Mine developed it when I would hit the right bump, transition in the hwy etc. I changed the Steering Damper as the Cheapest start. Bilstene to be exact. Had tires rotated and balanced as well as a front end alignment. Worked for about 3 days Hit the right transition again and it reared its ugly head again. Will be digging into front end next the steering dampness only hides the problem there is something else that causes it. Ever seen the NTSB at a crash site, there's more then 1 thing that causes a plane to fall from the sky. Same thing here something else causes it

Since it’s a 2008 you probably want to change your ball joints on the steering linkage as well as the stabilizer

I installed a Skyjacker steering stabilizer shock on my ford and that did not fix the death wobble issue. Going to be replacing all the front end linkage next. This only happens after I hit certain bumps in the road. At least it doesn’t do it constantly. Ford is only replacing the steering damper that’s all. Ford is petitioning courts to try and stay out of class action lawsuits. They have no idea what is fully causing this issue since 2005 model year till current.

The only thing I can think of is A lot of play somewhere in your steering linkage and maybe have a out of balance tires but my dad‘s truck has tires that are out of balance with the fox steering dampener and it stopped his but he has a 2019 and he doesn’t have much play anywhere in his steering linkage Ford fixed mine and the only part they changed was the steering dampener

I have wobble on my 2019 f250. I’m waiting in part to repair the problem. I found play on my sway bar and ball joints on my RH wheel. So I’m switching those out. I’m also adding a dual steering stabilizer by rough country with n3 n hope that fixes the problem. Stay tune

Need to put some caster on the front wheels, there’s a bolt on kit to do that, you can put as many steering dampeners you want until you put a lil caster angle on the front wheels
@s.torres36213 жыл бұрын
positive or negative caster?
@HillbillyRednecking3 жыл бұрын
@@s.torres3621 positive I’m pretty sure, there’s a bolt on kit for solid front axle fords, you only need 1-1.5° of caster to fix the infamous Ford death wobble, from factory the caster is practically 0°
@xXDCEEZXx3 жыл бұрын
I got a caster kit, it supposed to add 3max positive caster. And I still have death woggle.

There's an even easier way to solve this problem. Buy a Chevy truck, that way you get a real truck that's not trying to kill you
