The Congressional Biomedical Research Caucus welcomes Dr. James Allison, the Nobel Prize winner for his groundbreaking research that uses one’s own immune system to attack cancer tumors. Dr. Allison was able to untangle the complexities of why our own immune system cannot fight cancerous tumors. The significance of his research has led to life-saving treatments for people who would otherwise have little help.
Dr. Allison discusses the future of immunotherapy. How will we be able to use this therapy to target some of the more deadly cancers like brain and pancreatic cancers?

@@billytheweasel Yes they are. There are multiple clinical trials for CAR-T in solid tumors. Please research and find the best trial suited for you, it can save you or your loved ones life.

Hope this doesn't come across callous but research like this and the overall trajectory of how cancer treatment is moving is making me think that in about 50 years cancer is going to be a joke and will be more of a chronic condition that people don't really die from and most are "cured" from.
