Totally agree with Rand that Hi-Fi Rush should have got a game of the year nod. Perhaps even "Best Direction"(?) too. It did everything right, was a new IP and on top of that came from a studio (Tango) who are best known for an entirely different genre of games. Seems like the right kind of game to recognise to encourage developers and publishers to not rely on sequels...

The thing about around the Xbox tax discussion that is frustrating is that some people redirect the conversation to be around there not being some grand conspiracy where the media agrees to hold down Xbox. They shift it to that extreme in order to defend what has clearly been going on.

Lol y’all completely took the Metro High Fi Rush review quote out of context. “The software situation on Xbox is considerably different than the Switch though and Hi-Fi Rush has not been ignored. Which is a good job because it's the best exclusive on Xbox Series X. Admittedly, that's not saying much, given this is also the first Xbox Series X exclusive to be published by Microsoft themselves. The wasteland that has been the Xbox release schedules for the last few years limits the accolades we can give the game but it's a breath of fresh air for Xbox gamers, developer Tango Gameworks, and the rhythm action genre as a whole.” What they meant is that it’s not much of an accolade to award High Fi Rush as “the best Xbox Series first party game” when there wasn’t much to begin with.

Just accept the fact that you are always going to see atleast one exclusive playstation game and one exclusive Nintendo game nominated for GOTY at TGA every year. Microsoft has to be ruthless if it wants recognition in the gaming industry. Phil Spencer's useless interviews to these outlets don't do anything for Xbox.

F this game of the year awards show. I don’t watch it never had and don’t care. All I know about it is that Geoff guy professed his love on air to that Asian guy who made Metal Gear Solid. I played three games: Spider man 1 Morales and 2 within a month, i can understand why IGN and GS give it 8/10. I even don't think it can be nominated. HiFi Rush got 9/10 from IGN and GS. Even 10/10 from ign JAPAN and NME . Just like fresh air, there is no excessive promotion, Just a profect fusion of creativity and pop culture elements. Let us know all the joy that video games can bring. it got 5 nominations but not being nominated GOTY,What will our gaming industry become in the future if we do not encourage games like this, More super hero game in the future? Will the Oscars nominate Best pic for the The Avengers? It's hard for me to accept, what's wrong with TGA?

Let's be real for a second... Without the prospect of "world premiere announcements", the show would be a complete bust, with truly the only award people would even remotely give a shit about being "GOTY" and maybe something like "Best new IP", a category that doesn't even exist btw. The Oscars ratings have fallen off a cliff and at least give them credit, they don't use the Oscars to drop trailers for the next big movie coming out next year. TGA's would be the Oscars without the celebrity worship our society indulges in, it wouldn't be in anyone's mind until the next day, when gaming sites talk about the winners.

About CoD MW3 i dont get who buys the Game for the Campaign it always was short MW2 was 6-8 Hours. It wasnt good i only played it because there was the early accsess for it.I am an Main MP Player and the MP is the best in a long time. The Maps sure are remasters but great, the movment and weapons are awesome. They already did 2 events with free stuff and Season 1 looking very good. And people always complain about CoD when you have lost all Stuff like skins,levels,Camos every year and know everything carried over they are still complaining. Greetings from Germany

I picked up the Limited Edition OLED Steam Deck. After having my ASUS TUF Gaming Laptop, my TUF Gaming 4090, and my ROG Strix X670E-E Gaming Pro WiFi all die within 2yrs I'm not buying another ASUS product. They have serious QA issues. I still have their routers in my house, hopefully they don't die anytime soon smdh...

Well well well... All u remember when rand was talking crap about shitty achievments and people who are playing this $5 games with 1000G in 20min? I got rand on my friend list on xbox and I have to sadly admitt that our "millionaire" is plying those shitty games (1000G in 2min!!!) and what is worse - he is playing with guide from begin. Time I have to spend in the games is nearly doubled to max. Also. When we have to deal with hard bangers like Cuphead - our rand cant finish that on 1000G. Sorry mate, truth hurts.

Millions of downloads means that Rand's argument that not enough reviewers or games media or community has NOT played xbox games so that is reason for unintentional bias does not hold water. Diablo 4 sold 10mil on all platforms, it became a msft game in October and somehow could not make best rpg nomination. Highly rated game Diablo 4. Starfield 83 console 87 pc, Highly rated. Potter Highly rated Diablo 4 Highly rated All critical and commercial success and mostly if not completely snubbed at vga.

Major Nelson said it in an interview. Xbox is measured by a diff stick . I don't think it has anything to do with most people not being on Xbox. Because when they do play Xbox game it still doesn't get a fair shot. Fair is fair. And Xbox doesn't get a fair shot that the Xbox tax . Because if u in the industry to judge games . I feel like if Activision wasn’t owned by Microsoft yet and Modern Warfare 3 came out you’d make excuses for it. So what it was bad. More reason they needed to be bought by Microsoft. Spider-Man was a bug fest and I don’t hear you complaining about it. You all say people make excuses for PlayStation and Nintendo games that suck. When Rand was talking about CoD and how Sledge Hammer only had 16 months to create this game... I am very surprised that they did not mention anything about Xbox wanting Activision to put out CoD as a full game instead of a DLC, because Sony had marketing rights for one more CoD GAME. A DLC might not have covered their contract, and we all know Xbox can't wait for Sony to lose those marketing rights for CoD. Rand did mention that TreyArch is going to have had 4 years to create next years CoD... But he also did not mention aaaaanything about TreyArch being the studio that actually created this years Zombies mode. That is a 1/3 of this years CoD game so that had to really help Sledge Hammer and take a bit away from next years dev time.

@@ItzMeWillI don't believe there is a credible source because it's speculation and conjecture. It's logical but it also ignores the fact that ABK acted as an independent company until the day the deal went through as legally required. This game had been annouced as a stand alone game well before the ABK deal finalised. While it may suit Xbox, they had absolutely no say in whether the game was DLC or stand alone. At most they could have voiced an opinion. People like to pin the blame on Xbox but in reality this was on Bobby Kotick and his team.

Tbh this year the game awards were on point, as a massive Bethesda fan Starfield was underwhelming. It didn't provide you that urgency to explore like Skyrim or Oblivion which I consider two of the greatest games of all time,it had surface level exploration. There were some laughable decisions tho in rpevious years like 2019 were Disco Elysium didn't even get nominated for goty,2020 were ori also wasn't nominated...

Xbox tax is 100 percent real. Most game journalists have bias against Xbox games and that is evident through game awards nominations and winners. Keighley is the worst thing to happen to the gaming industry. I hope Microsoft buys more game publishers to make Playstation and Nintendo brand almost irrelevant

Never cared for GTA or saw why others love it. You can charge $0 or put it in game pass it won't matter I still won't touch it. Same for assassins Also I'm with rand, never brought a microtransacrion but I do season my food.

Oh my God Jen is getting a push from Microsoft. Jen is shilling for the Series S. lol. Just kidding actually I want to read this article Jen wrote now. I like the Series S but I prefer my Series X and PC. But I do think Series S is good. And Microsoft needs to bring more people into the fold. Personally I think a Microsoft handheld would be the answer. Let SteamDeck do the low power end of Handhelds and Microsoft do the high power end. Don’t compete with Steam. Just existing in the same world and complement each other. Going head to head with Steam will make enemies for Microsoft. But if they work together respecting each others strengths and weaknesses people would respect Microsoft. With Microsoft making all the new games with all these first parties they now have Microsoft will need to bring more people into the fold. What’s the point of having all these games if no one buys them. So I agree appeal to the series X community and make a handheld community. Microsoft’s tag line was play where you want how you want. I say make the series S into a handheld. Give me more reason to buy another one. Because I sold my S and keep my X. And built a PC with a 4090

Rand, you need to play Dave The Diver before you question it as hard as you are.... Yes I know it is funded by a bigger company, but you questioned How Dave the Diver was nominated as an indie. I think if you played it, you might understand a bit more. Kinda funny that he went on to say no one plays any games, when he hasn't played Dave the Diver haha

I think that "indie game" should always mean a game made by independent devs (not owned by anyone). I understand the confusion about what games are indie or not, especially regarding games being published by massive publishers, but It's really about ownership of the studio and where the funding is coming from. If Neil Druckman picked up 20 Naughty Dog devs and made a 5 hour long, 2D Jak and Dexter game, that game wouldn't be considered indie,

@@LaztstaNd Which makes BG3 an indie game. They are majority (70%) owned by a husband and wife team with a 30% minority share for Tencent. Also no publisher.
