Pro tip: You don't need to swap to backup. Just run augmented drum. They nerfed spike grenades so that it's a 3% buff. It's noticeable, but not that much.

if u run spike with boss spec thats a 11% increase in dmg and dmg boosts stack multiplicatively so with surges and radiant + debuff the dmg stacking w the extra ten-eleven percent dmg would make a difference

@@althechicken9597 I got lucky with a cascade envious marsilion-c (world drop). It's a rapid fire frame so you can imagine how nuts it is with cascade point lol

The trials gl with backup mag and augmented drum can get 8 in the base mag size, letting you put 24 total grenades in the mag. Then you can switch to spike and boss / taken spec for massive damage

Regnant is craftable from Defiance so you can easily add Mini Frags (bigger magazine) cascade point and envious

Does this actually work post-update? I have am envious explosive with 7 in the mag and i can't get it to overflow to more than 15. Don't know what else I could possibly do to get it to work haha.

Answered my own question if anyone doesn't know. If you pull out your GL too early after getting to double the mag, it will stop at whatever amount it's been overflowed at that point. So you if you have 7 in the mag, get to 14, and then get a couple of kills and pull out your gl, it will show probably 15-17. At that point you wouldn't be able to get to 21 without dumping back down to 14 and waiting longer/getting more kills before pulling out the gl again. Thought I was going crazy lol.

Kinda confused - are you saying you need to get about 10 kills, pull out your GL, stow it and get 10 more kills? Like you have to pull the weapon out at a threshold and stow it for it to work? Or just backup mag or augmented drum?

Depends on what you're using the rocket for. For DPSing a boss, Apex. For things like Cenotaph spam, clown cartridge + explosive light

envious assassin needs to be on parasite, you need to kill enemies with other weapons for the gun to work well anyways

In my adept god roll cataphract goat, I can run spikes with the adept mag mod and get 24 rounds in the mag💀and just switch to boss spec before damage 🗿🍷

Overflow also seems to be bugged, my thoughless somehow is swaping with more than double the mag, i mean 14 sniper shots are nice, but 16 is now getting wierd

nope, just regular, grinding crafting levels on snipers is a pain, so i never enhanced any of the perks because the gun never levels up

@Smegmer just tested myself in the game. You are right, but it is a negligible amount of damage, maybe 1-1.5%. If I was running a swapping combo, I'd still want the extra handling from quick launch.

@@PaulFurn89 max br vs lowest br I believe is a 4.9% damage difference. Very small but regardless handling is not as important imo when exotics such as ophidians or dragons shadow are in the game. I understand why you’d want it tho

I got a lucky world drop marsilion-c with cascade point and envious with mini frags. Since it's a rapid fire + cascade, you can be done shooting your gun in the blink of an eye lol

Surrounded isn't guaranteed, while Bait & Switch is.

Surrounded is good on GLs if you have coordination with your team to not just melt every enemy in sight and you have a Well of radiance to counter the possibility of accidentally killing yourself with the GL, but it's better to go for a dps perk that's less circumstantial.
