Catfishing is often talked about as a creepy, yet not inherently dangerous act. Sadly though, there are some disturbing cases involving individuals posing as others to fulfill twisted desires. These are the internet's most notorious catfish.

Based on the ages of his victims, the point was to “trick” straight teens. It’s a power move. And as a member of the alphabet gang, that is rape. In the same way that taking off a condom during sex is rape. You get your victims to consent to one thing, while secretly doing another. He didn’t want to have sex with men, and Jerry was a pedophile. The ONLY thing the team did wrong was not calling 911 afterward, at the very least to protect themselves.

Yep. I remember this case was fraught with controversy in the day, some pple were trying to make it a trans issue, some were trying to make it about toxic masculinity in the black community... It definitely echoed some of those things at face value and if you don't follow the case. The reality is tho, Jerry was a predator that catfished the WRONG dude(s) and paid the price. Sure, the footballers could have just not, but when you've been violated like that, it's completely valid and rational that they'd get so angry they'd punch them, especially after having been catfished and thus essentially SA'd. The way Isimeman took the whole thing in stride and doesn't take pride in the killing truly shows the Jury made the right decision.

How difficult would it be for a police department to perform a more thorough background check on prospective employees? I fear that it has become too easy for crooked/criminal law enforcement officers to find another job at a different police department after being terminated for malfeasance.

@@drewgoin8849it's not an accident. Police departments intentionally hire violent and harmful people because people like Edwards are more likely to be okay with internal corruption, and a lot of police just like hurting people. I wonder how he did not realise something was wrong if the lights were off and the date had a mask on them. Even cis males who are concerned about women being trans always check downstairs if the woman is biologically female or not. But the problem is: if you're a man who likes looking downstairs, either you might be gay or a PDF file. And no I have nothing against gay men focusing on ph4lli, or p£n1ses. And don't get me wrong not all gay men are interested in gay sx, as Stephen Fry once said. I would be called out as a h0m0ph0be if I made homos£xuality all about sx, even though the suffix is about sx. I do have something against h0m0phobic male predators who identify as straight and become mad at everyone suggesting they might be gay, even though they may ironically engage in gay sx more than gays themselves. I don't identify as gay but I don't like h0m0phobes and I am irrationally scared of becoming a predators's victim. I know many men who are insecure about their s£xuality want to take it on people who seem to be doing better than them, especially if said insecure men were CSA victims and can't put up with other men's v1rginity. Morbid jealousy if I may say so myself. It's not the idea of being gay that scares me the most, it's the idea of being humiliated and destroyed by jealous people because I still have the s£xual innocence of a ch1ld. The jury should have convicted him though. While what that guy was doing was disgusting you don't accidentally beat someone to death and he most certainly didn't know of any weapon present and he only knew of one other potential victim. Further more he put himself in that situation by going back to meet the guy again. He may have even premeditated the murder if he found out the person was a man which would explain why he put himself in that situation again now wouldn't it? He should have been convicted of at least manslaughter but the jury wasn't taking the law into account. A jury wont convict someone who is guilty under the legal definition of a crime if they feel that person was justified even when the law doesn't account for "justification" in any way. It happens all the time and it is a miscarriage of justice. those jurors should be ashamed.

Considering the man was elderly and the check was not typical (i.e. car or house payment) and was not for family, the branch leader should have sat the man aside and discussed it with him further. Jerry Smith chose to be a predator and with that comes its consequences. Etute being found not guilty felt like the right verdict. This man was the scum of society. I know his family stood up for him but objectively he destroyed many people through his own deviant evil. Jerry Smith would’ve never been assaulted if he wasn’t luring kids to his home to abuse them. The lack of accountability from the prosecution is astounding. Etute could’ve ran away but this is a unique scenario and I’m glad the jurors used logic here.

Take it from me. Only talk to people who are local and agree to a series of very public dates, so you can get a feel for them BEFORE getting more intimate in any way. People can be great communicators, make you feel great and make a great first impression and be absolute shits in reality. Or married. Or scammers
@Azurethewolf168
@Azurethewolf168 6 ай бұрын
@@ThePopo543yeah, true. The whole system incentivizes weird people like this. And the people on apps do it simply for fun, you’re not gonna find the quality of people you want online. Not to mention, it’s very hard to gauge all the natural human stuff online like a person’s tone, character, personality, etc. you also would find that humans are attracted to people that don’t look 100% attractive, where as online you would never actually date this person, but due to other factors in real life interactions you do. Overall, online dating should just never be done. It’s horrible for both parties and just leads to wasted time and effort for little reward. The best option is to just take the risk and find someone in real life.
@Azurethewolf168
@Azurethewolf168 6 ай бұрын
@@PeachysMomwell that’s basically what courting is, that’s how it was decades ago where you would take them to random places around the area just to gauge who they were. Dating has basically done away with that where there’s now more incentives to go to an expensive place to eat, and then never talk to each other again. The thing is, if someone actually was attracted to you, they would just want to go anywhere with you rather than an expensive location.

i used to work at a drugstore and there was a woman who was trying to buy hundreds of dollars worth of gift cards because her boyfriend “Chris Stapleton” asked for them. She was so determined that he was the real deal and we weren’t legally allowed to tell her that she was being scammed. We didn’t sell her the gift cards, of course, but she kept coming back almost everyday trying and trying again. One day we called in an officer to explain the situation to her privately. I guess it was an unsuccessful attempt because the next day she came back and tried again. I quit my job around that time so I’m assuming she still hasn’t realized it yet and unfortunately she might never will in time.

Nothing of what happened justified Etutes actions, that wasn‘t self defense, he went way overboard.
