I build one in my TSI as well, how did you solve the problem with sharing contacts with the backup battery? The keep alive option from the GAD27 shares/ are connected to the same voltage inputs of the GDUs with the backup batterie.

With trim servos wired through the GAD 27, will the autopilot trim the airplane, or do you need wire the output of the GAD27 through the GSA-28 AP servo, then to the trim servo?

You do need to wire the trim through the GSA-28 for the autopilot to control it.

How do you make this work with Lancair type flap systems?

Sorry for the very late reply, you will need to use the limit switches typically for this.

Hello Adam, I have a GAD-29 on order for my Kitfox but I don’t see a 27 on the order. Not knowing too much about avionics I believe these two items are completely different. Do you agree? Looks like I may have overlooked this little box which sounds helpful. Thanks, Matt

The Gad 27 is a different box and has great function. Being a Kitfox you may or may not want to use it since you are manual flaps and usually trim is one switch in the center. The GAD 27 does give extra discrete inputs if you like to have different alerts and it also has useful lighting busses for dimming equipment or cockpit lighting.

Why no mention what else it is you do with the GAD 27? That's ridiculous only to talk about it with customers, why mention it then. Gives me a red flag when I'm shopping panel builders.

Sorry you feel that way, not only do we want some exclusivity for our customers, we also don’t want to give all of our secrets to our competitors. If we don’t mention it then people won’t know that there could be more.
