used max/msp a bit in art school, mostly focused on the jitter side of things. this actually looks like something i could build in my old ass copy of Max 5, unfortunately most tutorials nowadays use all the massive QoL improvements from the newer versions.

I'm in the same boat as you. I started learning on Max 6 when it had just come out, and checked out pretty much right after that

This stuff feels like it’s the audio engineering equivalent of writing music with notation only. Either way I’m stuck in the middle, nether at all an expert at either 😂 really not understanding how one can see things from either perspective
