The thing is that they didn't just fire her. They fired her, then released a statement that just eviscerated her reputation, painting her as some rabid hate monger, which any read of the things she said can be seen to be bullshit. Alan, the issue is that if they're going to fire over politics it has to be applied evenly. It's not about the blacklist. Taking the most extreme example; if an employee engages in political violence in favor of political ideology X while on the job and they are fired, and another employee engages in political violence against group Y while on the job and they get lionized. This shows a discriminatory application of the rules. The being fired or even the blacklisting isn't the issue. It's that the punitive action only goes one way Favoritism is not legal under these circumstances. Title 7, Section 12: Religious (ideological) Discrimination

You would think maybe minds might be changed if the facts presented in this case clearly show Disney in the wrong, but I feel like you’d probably be mistaken. No, they can’t fire you because of your politics. That’s the thing I’ve worked for many people who had a diametrically opposed position for me about my political leanings. I remember one time I was having a discussion we were talking subject politics came up, because I believe it was an election year told him how I felt and who I thought was the best president. They looked at me like I was scum, but it never handed my job performance and it did nothing to do. It had nothing to do with my job and I’ve met plenty of people that I completely and utterly disagree with about politics. What really bothers me is that the tactics these bullies and disingenuous people use are not limited to these extreme left-wing ideologies. I see it in gaming all the time whenever people just want to hate on a game because they don't like the company that made it, or because it's exclusive, or something like that. Like, take Starfield for example. It's a pretty great game, and yet, you wouldn't know that by reading Twitter/KZfaq comments or seeing the enormous amount of negative, disingenuous KZfaq content and media content made about the game, or by the review bombing. It's actually a lot better than Fallout 4 in many ways, has way fewer bugs than Fallout 4 had, and is absolutely a strictly better game than The Outer Worlds (which most people generally think is an 8.5 or 9/10 game), and yet Starfield is probably the most hated game in my lifetime despite having over 13 million players with average playtime of 40 hours. Like Alan said, you make people tell a lie so often, it becomes the truth.
