Oh boy this brings back memories. My family loves to sing. We sing when we do chores, when we go for car rides, and just to socialize when we all get together. This is one of the songs I remember singing, (though I must admit I came through on the chorus and sort of stumbled my way through the verses). I can still hear my grandmother's voice. It's always an uplifting way to spend your time singing songs that remind you you're a child of God bound for Heaven. Thanks for recording this. I loved hearing it again.

I had never heard this song until I watched the 2010 remake of True Grit. It's on the soundtrack. It's now one of my favorites. Thank you for recording it!

It does have some components similar to barber shop. Except no fancy chords. ( : This exact arrangement dates all the way back to 1924. It's a fun one!

You're welcome, RC! And yes, I think this is normally in G Major. Sometimes song leaders will pitch songs down on accident or on purpose though. So who knows? ( :

That's one I'd like to add to the channel some day. I'm currently coming up with a list of songs similar to that that I would consider "youth songs" and the current plan is to have one of my female friends or family members sing the girl's parts and I'll sing the guy's parts. So it's in the works but might take some more time. Especially since all of those songs are copyrighted.

@@elliotbowman8157 I'm in the Navy, stationed in Jacksonville Florida at NAS Air Base. I've been here for 2 yrz now. I attend and serve @ the Lakeshore Church of Christ in Middleburg, Florida. I've lead the song services in many places I've been stationed, including overseas. I love this channel....great for re-familiarization of old / new songs and helps with practice. I listen to this channel often. Keep it up, my brotha.

My group is just me singing all four parts (normally). When I sing at church, I'm usually leading singing for the congregation or singing with the congregation.
