The circular ditched enclosure, with its 7,000 years considered to be the oldest solar observatory in Europe, has been completely excavated and reconstructed and has made Goseck known far beyond the region.
Since the end of 2005, the solar observatory has been open to visitors and offers a journey into the past. The nearby castle offers a family-friendly exhibition about the impressive circular ditched enclosure.
