AVerMedia made a new audio interface for streamers that is basically a GoXLR and StreamDeck combined.. but is it any good?

Also saying the avermedia will replace the goxlr is misinformation imo. You show it as a great idea but in practice both the software and the hardware are a complete trainwreck! IMO goxlr mini is still best option and will be for a while.

I almost want to laugh at them for having the audacity to throw in such a mediocre preamp in their interface. It's almost like they wanted to make sure they could lower the cost of the product as much as possible and ended up falling flat on their face without even realizing it.

This was the epitome of "They had us in the first half, not gonna lie". I really want this product to get the support it needs to succeed. I haven't been this excited about an interface in years and the fact that it can potentially replace 2 integral devices is something I want to see happen. Also, maybe it'll light something in Elgato do make something similar for people not wanting to go USB for mics and still have a "form" of Wave Link and Stream Deck integration for XLR.

Quick question guys! I have a rode nt usb mic and I stream games from my pc and ps4 via an elgato 4k60 pro, my headset is an astro a50 gen 4. my problem is everytime I wanna stream games via the ps4 i have to connect the astro to the playstation to hear the sound. So i connect the optical cable to the PlayStation and the usb to my pc. So now i can her the ps4 sound and my desktop sound (youtube f.e.) why am i not hearing my alerts in obs? And my viewers do not hear them as well? Is there a way to fix this? How can I setup the astro that I can hear everything at once? Do i need some kind of mixamp for this? Thank you guys.

@@qweneyon i do. You would add yet another preamp before the avermedia and send in the mic signal super hot, so you would not need the preamp beeing strong in the AM.

I am so glad you review stuff that doesn't come up to snuff because then we actually learn something from it!! If all you talk about is the products that work well and you like then we never understand how it could be bad. This is wonderful; your explanations were reasonable to follow along with (though still beyond my understanding) and you ended it with a review of the actual usability of the item rather than an opinion of what you 'think' of it. I don't care if it's ugly, pretty, or weighs 20 lbs, I want to be able to use it and understand how to use it. Thank you.

Too many people get stuff to try and are so thrilled to have them that they lose objectivity. This guy's the real deal! I looked to see if Bezos had it and could not! This. This is my new favorite stream device. Great as is imo but like you said, potential is crazy high. This plus a Fethead is still cheaper than a full-size GoXLR which at least deals with the preamp part...but yeah woulda been nice to see something better in there.

What if you paired up this device with something like the cloudlifter cl1 or the fethead? It could possibly make the mic usable with this device. I use the fethead on my sm58 so that way I’m not cranking the gain to near max on my Scarlett solo

So if the biggest setback is the hardware issue with the gain, could that be bypassed if you already had a preamp and just used it before the avermedia deck?

I bought this and paired it with my GOXLR for my WFH audio solution. It works flawlessly after the initial software installation steps. I’m using Blue Spark XL Black as my mic. No issues as all. I tried other mixers and they did not out as advertised: - Razer Audio Mixer - Wave XLR

I've been avoiding a goxlr because I'm already running a preamp/processor unit that I love the sound of, but it only sends 1/4" out. This looks like it has a combination input rather than xlr only. Might be worth looking into for me since I also am looking at a stream deck.

Harris, do you know what gain you had to set for the blue ember on the GoXLR? I'm seeing it pretty high(50's) and was thinking it seemed pretty high.. I'll try to catch you in Livestream if you don't respond. Also... Baby #1 is on the way for me too.. SUPER excited.

thanks for your information and warning about the new and interesting device of Avermedia. I didn´t notice it on the market until this video. Was a nice Idea to replace my Behringer Xenyx X1832USB to a smaller and good/interesting device, but with those issues it had to be on halt for the next time.

Thanks for the video. I have GoXLR mini but wondering what's the next level? Seems like Nexus is not there yet... I wish there was a product like GoXLR but with more inputs which are separate channels. I mean for example I want to connect two different devices (2 mic or mic and synth).

I'm wondering how the preamp issue affects USB microphones like the Wave3? Is it a non-issue as it's a different sound source, or still a downer? (one day I'll get a "real" Mic.. but maybe today is the only day where it might be an advantage? lol)
