Yes, it sounds like a great idea. I've learned so much from you, Rod, and Steve about Appalachia. I was raised a little further north in Pennsylvania, but my mom and my aunts and uncles were raised in Appalachia. Mostly West Virginia, Maryland. I always loved listening to their stories, and I love listening to your stories of Appalachia.

Thanks so much for the kind comments and for your input. We've done some stories from western Pennsylvania on our audio podcast but I don't think they're here on KZfaq. Check it out if you'd like at our blog: www.storiesofappalachia.com!

I would be down to watch a live on Thursday nights. I believe it would help the Channel.

I was living here in Durham, NC when the 2011 earthquake happened, and it was felt here in the area...but guess what? I slept through it! lol. I woke up to a blinking digital alarm clock, microwave, etc. I thought that we'd had a power outage or something, but then I checked the news, and learned otherwise. So that one was certainly felt as far as NC. I think a live stream could be a lot of fun. If you do it, give it a chance to catch on with people. I'd participate in the text chatting.

It's impossible to say, although probably not an intentional explosion at that time. Twenty years later, though, during the labor unrest in the coalfields, they might have.
