Pretty cool story on how you and Alex met. Just goes to show that being kind can lead to so many more opportunities then always competing against your peers. Thanks for sharing!

Hey Rahul, I'm fan on your channel. The video I loved the most was the one where you talked about coding at Meta. How engineers work around such a large codebase and architecture. I find that stuff fascinating and would love to know more about that. One question I've always had is if its possible when working at a company like Meta to build your application locally?

What do you mean by building the application locally? Like, building without an internet connection?

@@RahulPandeyrkp Like running the application on your computer. I would think every applications consists of many databases and microservices and front applications.

It was so great. And it also helped that we tons of other commonality as well: building side projects, a KZfaq channel, and a passion for teaching.

Thank you for the video! I have an additional question : in this new era of AI-backed software engineering, does it make sense for us to take the time to deeply understand a topic? Or shall we bypass the 'deep understanding' overhead, and just trust AI as a 'consultant' that helps us build things related to that topic?

Definitely still worth becoming an expert in an area. In fact, I think that skill has become more valuable. I think the T-shaped engineers are most effective

Your videos provide valuable assistance to both beginner and mid-tier engineers. However, I've noticed that the recent thumbnails tend to give off a clickbait-like impression, which has made me hesitant to watch your content. I believe people are more inclined to seek guidance from independent thinkers rather than those following the crowd.

Another skill where AI is unlikely to make headwinds in near future is infrastructure / SRE kind of work. What do you think?

@RahulPandeyrkp only for people who already have a job and want to keep it. They are useless for unemployed people who are looking for a job because no matter what they won't be hired.

The AI developers are software engineers, why they so hype to replace their job. Lol can they just focus on unalive other type of jobs? Like Radiologyst, Goverment officials, etc

Because that is the whole purpose of engineers. To improve technology and living so much that they become obsolete. Your job as a programmer will be replaced by AI one day eventually. Just accept it and move on.
