i’m a club dj and high schoolers don’t go to clubs. i dj’d a prom earlier this year and i tried to sneak in a tech house track, big mistake. students started leaving the dance floor within seconds so i had to make a quick transition to recover. highschoolers don’t know what it’s like to be absolutely gobsmacked by a house beat that hits you so hard you shit yourself. they don’t respect the genre yet but they will when they get to their mid-late 20’s, and definitely in their 30’s.
