The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is an open world action role-playing video game developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. It is the fifth main installment in The Elder Scrolls series, following The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and was released worldwide for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on November 11, 2011.
The game's main story revolves around the player character and their quest to defeat Alduin the World-Eater, a dragon who is prophesied to destroy the world. The videogame is set two hundred years after the events of Oblivion, and takes place in the fictional province of Skyrim. Over the course of the game, the player completes quests and develops the character by improving skills. The game continues the open world tradition of its predecessors by allowing the player to travel anywhere in the game world at any time, and to ignore or postpone the main storyline indefinitely.

Might just be me, but I always found this facet of the lore to be my favorite. Maybe my love for Crusader Pelinal, but the idea of this boss of a man tearing apart Mer, covered in their blood, and proclaiming the name of an emperor of the future, just strikes me as so epic.

@@morrigankasa570 That was more thanks to the fact that the other races can´t survive in Blackmarsh, not thanks to any tactics by the Argonians. Besides, the best of the Argonians (like invading Morrowind, extremely successfully I might add), was directly done by the Hist. IMHO: Argonians don´t have any claims to good battle tactics.

I think that Uriel Septim deserves an honorable mention. While he may not have had much in the way of combat success, he governed the Empire during its golden years and kept it peaceful.

Saint Alessia. She rebelled, broke the enslavement and dark practices of the ayleids, and sealed the pact with Akatosh, protecting the people from daedric invasions. (unless we get 'technical' and consider her not 'an Imperial' but a ''Nede'').

It’s almost strange how the Imperials were such a strong race and culture throughout the centuries. They don’t really compare physically to the likes the Nords and Redguards. They also don’t compare magically to the Bretons. And yet they have maintained control over Tamriel for most written history It’s like General Tullius said “ Battles are won by trained and disciplined men. Wars are won by talented and exceptional individuals.” Edit, love you guys. Keep it up with these amazing videos!

It's their physical lacking which has enabled them to master strategy, discipline, and unity. This, alongside with the teachings of the Akaviri during the Second Era, has enabled the Imperials to become the strongest militarily, at least when it comes to warfare and soldiers.

There's the culture of diplomacy and the love of a good strategy, as well as being in a damn good location. Two protected ports, natural line of defense in the north and northeast in way of mountains, mostly gentle rolling hills as far as landscape goes, temperate climate, a (largely) happily employed citizen base with a decent wealth distribution, access to resources like ore and timber... They've got a lot going for them that other races might be lacking in.

Going to give special mention props to Janus Hasildor for creating one of the most prosperous counties in Cyrodill, weeding out a necromancer cult and going right up to Oblivion portals and punching to death everything that came out while the Hero of Kvatch went inside to close it. For that matter if we are to take the box-art as the cannon race of player characters, going to give the grand-prize to the Hero of Kvatch themselves.

Also Corvus Umbranox. He learned to read Elder Scrolls in 7 years and devised a plan to steal one in order to rewrite history to undo a curse placed on a Daedric artifact. He’s seriously underrated.

Martin Septim. No contest. In fact, I'd say he was the greatest hero who ever walked the face of Nirn. For one reason: That he would disagree. It's often said that the player character isn't the real hero of TES4's story, Martin is. And that's true - *to everyone but Martin.* To him, he was no hero. Just a decent, honest man, simply obliged to fulfill his destiny - but proud to do so, because he loved his people first & foremost, no matter what. Until the bitter end. To us, and all of Tamriel, Martin Septim was our hero. *But we were his.* Nothing reaffirms my love for The Elder Scrolls quite like remembering that.

I don’t understand why you can’t make it so Martin Septim lives. You can actually kill Mehrunes Dagon with a powerful enough spell, but he comes back to the cutscene anyways.

Glarthir just trying to reach the player in this video sends chills down my spine. Probably one of the best quests in TES, as it deals with a mentally ill, paranoid, homeless person. Sent me a chill when I realized that b/c I didn't inform a guard, he went on a killing spree.

Martin Septim deserves the same honour that even Talos got as he was the one who stopped Mehrunes Dagon and the Mythic Dawn by sacrificing himself to create an aspect of Akatosh himself to banish the daedric prince of change, destruction and revolution

@Son Gohan Martin Septim did have the ability to shout he just didnt know he could and Dagon wasnt as incompetent during Oblivion his worshippers the mythic dawn and their leader Mankar Camoran managed to assassinate Emperor Uriel Septim VII and his all of his children. Mehrunes Dagon's undoing in the end was Martin and the Hero of Kvatch but even then Martin had to use The Amulet of Kings to sacrifice himself and turn into an Aspect of Akatosh in order to banish Dagon back to Oblivion. at the end of the day you have your opinion and i have mine

The Doom Slayer would probably win considering he has his entire gun collection in his pocket, has a doom blade, a flame belch, a crucible, a chainsaw and wears power armor, but Pelinal Whitestrake would give him a run for his money for sure. I find it more likely the Doom Slayer would defeat Pelinal and then decide not to kill him out of respect. Then they'd slaughter some elf-demons together. The second the Doom Slayer sees a dremora he'd be revving up Mick Gordon's chainsaw and plugging in the Polivoks.

Abnur Tharn saved all of Tamriel and possibly Nirn with a Ward and also lived to 160 something as just a human. He in my opinion is the single greatest Imperial. He could have taken the crown for himself and also showed no bias by allowing his sister to be dethroned after unlawfully taking khajiit government under her rule. Abnur is an amazing hero.

Are you doing Greatest Nord of all time? We don't know for sure what race Talos was before he became the 9th Divine but it can be confirmed that Sinmir was a Nord before he became the 10th Divine.

Angus King Tiber Septim was a Breton. He ascended to godhood along with Ysmir Wulfharth, an Atmoran, and Zurin Arctus, an Imperial. So technically, the God Talos is all 3.

Honorable mention to Tacitus Sallustious of Markarth. He's a horrible blacksmith, but Ghorza is a really tough boss and at least the guy is honest. Another honorable mention to Emperor Titus Mede. He wasn't the one who brought about the collapse of the Empire. If anything, he ensured that what remained held together. And the Thalmor didn't lock Titus in with them: Titus locked them in with him. My "Greatest Imperial" trophy would probably go to Pelinal Whitestrake. Because, really, who can compete with that badass in this category?

@@Hugh_Morris Tiber septim didn't found the empire. He only restored it. Alessia founded the first human cyrodiilic empire. The ayleids founded the empire before that. The next version of the empire was started by Reman. Tiber took over thousands of years after the empire existed. You're confusing his having conquered all of tamriel (of which he is the first and only) with having founded the empire.

No At most they should make an animated TV show aesthetically similar to Castlevania but more similar to The Dark Crystal in both plot scope and world building A highly violent and stylized animated telling of the Alessian Slave Rebellion would be very successful and would hardly go unnoticed

Still can't believe one of the spots for the best Imperial was taken up by a Nede. That's like saying one of the best Bretons was a Nede, one of the best Altmer was an Aldmer or one of the best Dunmer was a Chimer. They're predecessors to those peoples. It'd also make room for some other Imperial like that Count of Anvil I forgot the name of if we didn't count Nedes as Imperials.

I'm really hoping the Empire redeems itself in the Elder Scrolls VI since I've always loved the concept of it and what they stand for, It was sad to see it get corrupted and finally decay into the state they are now. It would be great if they grew strong again, keeping the same virtues they've always had but at the same time stop clinging so much to the past; their acomplishments, their heroes, their role in history and their close relation with the gods. While all of it is true and something that everyone should be proud of, it created too much ego and a sense of security that only led to ruin, rendering their predecessors efforts and acomplishments useless . They should instead have their eyes on the horizon, an Empire Reborn.

It needs to be destroyed and remade from scratch. The empire has been led by incompetent leaders and corrupt nobles and it will be put in it's deserved place, that of misery and shame. A new empire should be born.

@@lidular it's not really up for debate. Talos also almost definitely isn't a single person (commonly accepted theory is that it's wulfharth/zurin arctus/Tiber septim oversoul). You're probably thinking of *just* Tiber septim. Even then, Tiber septim was a Breton.

@T Ford well he was Talos stormcrown before he was Tiber Septim. And the most commonly accepted, cannon, origin story says that he is from atmora, making him a Nord (more or less). There is evidence that he might have been a breton though a Lot of that comes from non cannon kirkbride sources.

@@frankcl1 true though not as amazing as glass armor, and if they aren't planning on smithing stuff then the best light armor aesthetic you can find early on in the game is forsworn armor set
