I've been collecting photography books for 50 years or so. I ordered and received Alain's book and think it's one of the best ever. He is a true artist. The photos are very nice. The print quality is wonderful and the printing is excellent. It's almost like looking at fiber based prints. (without the silver.). I love it.

What beautiful, and meaningfulI, work by your “student” photographers! I love that you bring these wonderful artists out of the shadows. It seems to me that some of your students, were they not off performing silly things like brain surgery(!), could very well lead their own workshops. Thanks for this video.

i agree about similarities in photography, especially black and white images i enjoy taking and the angiographic images i work with in endovascular neurosurgery.

Ted, have you by chance seen the work or read the book "The Witch of Kodakery" about Myra Albert Wiggins, 1869-1956? The book covers the interesting times of the early American photography movement and her admission in 1903 to the Photo-Secession and her difficulties. It was interesting how so many of modern photographers' struggles were the same even back then.

Hello Ted! Thank you for the, as always, awesome content! I have a question: if I understood correctly, you mentioned that you algo acquired something else from Jun Miki, related to Life Magazine, could you tell me what it was? Was it a book? If so, which book is it? Thank you

This video is a great reminder that there are so many amazing photographers out there that we've never heard of. Thanks for introducing us to Alan Doenier and Jun Miki! I can't wait to see more of their work Sir

It seems to me that Japanese photographers have as much respect for their cameras as they do for the art form. This may be a cultural thing, to respect the tools and the artisans who’ve made them. Maybe it’s just “old school”, I , being a late Boomer, was brought up to respect my tools and take care of them. Anyway, thanks Ted, you’ve spurred me on to investigate Japanese photographers. Best wishes!

I am far too curious, so if you put the description of where the photo was taken in the back of the book then I have the burden of flipping back and forth constantly. I need to know. Even if it is somewhere in Russia, which I know nothing about.

Love your videos, would mean a lot if you watched one of ours. your videos are something that always leaves me feeling positive. hopefully you will like our work as well. BTW our channel has nothing to do with photography, but a lot of knowledge about cameras and lenses that got me started came from your knowledge! Cheers! and keep looking up!
