After all his injuries at 42 years old now he was still able to best some of the world's top racers. Good tactics or bad tactics by anybody else doesn't matter. A race is a race and a win is a win and this dude absolutely stunned them. 🐐

Interesting video, but for me ultimately disappointing because there was no mention of the times the runners did in each segment of the race. How did their swim times compare, their cycling times and their marathon?? For Christ sakes the video is 11 and a half minutes long and no mention of those crucial elements seems like a wasted opportunity!!

Ditlev and the others let off the gas at the front of the bike and let Frodeno back in. Bad tactics from the younger guys, but Frodeno took the opportunity and capitalized on it.

Don’t over bike and you won’t cramp but you come off the bike two minutes further back. Or over bike and come off with the lead and then cramp. He gambled and lost.

He got lucky that Blummenfelt cramped up so often. I don’t believe it was from over biking because as he claims it was due to a bad bike fit he was dealing with.

Nope. Kristian Blumenfelt. He won olympics, ironman worlds and set ironman distance world record in a year. Give credit to the Grandpa but Kristian is the greatest so far.

Jan has won Olympic Gold then ironman 70.3 running a 66 min half marathon, Jan won 3 times ironman world champs he will be the best for a while still.

He never beat Mark Allen in the GOAT category and neither are close to Blummenfeldt. 3 Kona rookies beat Jan's fastest ever Kona and two of them are short course athletes. And it was windy in 2022 Kona.

The wind was perfect to be honest. Not much and the wind was mainly tailwind as it turned during the day. So perfect conditions. Had Jan been in that race he would also have beaten his former best time. Mark Allen did the sport before it was professional. The level now is so much higher tbh!

Jan is certainly a great triathlete but he is NOT the greatest of all time. Both Mark Allen and Dave Scott won TWICE as many IM world championships than Jan has and additionally both won many many championship of all distances before the era of triathlon as Olympic sport or IM 70.3 world champs. Mark Allen alone won 10 Nice Triathlons and the very first world Olympic distance championship. Of the two, Mark Allen should be considered the GOAT. Whoever started promoting Jan as the greatest of all time has not studied their history very well.
