@Chico 1985 the movie was actually very good and Kato was def a step up for modern times, the only thing that was horrific is Seth Rogan turning the Green Hornet into a spoilt, imbecile, buffoon, fat, entitled, weak, cant tell his asshole from his elbow plucky comedian... all qualities a superhero is not.

Reed and Malloy, of Adam-12, made a guest appearance in the pilot of Emergency!, then in a season 5 episode the crew of Station 51 are set out on a call while watching an episode of Adam-12. Emergency! was a spin-off of Adam-12, which itself was a spin-off of Dragnet. All three were produced at Universal by Jack Webb's production company Mark VII.

John Fleshman I watched a episode the other day, green hornet launches a flying drone from the trunk of the black beauty and has a screen pop out in the backseat so he can see what the drone sees which we all know is 100% possible today

I don't how old you sir, but when I was a kid we didn't care about Van Williams. Every kid was trying to do karate like Bruce Lee. Bruce Lee was the one we talked about.

@@Brother-Bare Well I lived at a small coastal town and I was 13 years old and I had a crush on the Green Hornet I thought he was so dreamy so handsome!! I thought the car lights were pretty then but I wanted to see the Green Hornet to me he was so wonderful I liked Kato and I liked his accent because some of our school friends were also Chinese but they didn’t have an accent they wanted to try to be able to speak like him! As a married woman and have a wonderful husband and family all these years and know what I should be thinking and I Love Jesus at 70 I just went through what all youngsters go through but Van Williams was a extremely talented actor and he helped out Bruce do you really think a thick accent would have helped him he had to learn how to speak English well and he did and they stayed close!! I only wish the big shots would have given it another year!

Truly spoken, but the paradox of the Batman show was they were "riding on the deal" for three seasons while this show only went one due to Burt Ward (Robin) complaining that Bruce was getting more attention from the fans -especially during the fight scenes. I'm pretty certain the show would have out-classed Batman in the second season had it went the run.

More than that, there was actually a set of episodes where they actually guest stared on Batman. That's why this whole thing made me have a headache.

@ZoneFighter1 They could do it in the same style of Gotham. It could work if the public has forgotten about the POS movie that Seth Rogen foisted on the public.

@ZoneFighter1 Maybe the Green Hornet could have 'bugs' in the municipal computer systems, manipulating face recognition software? Making cameras break down or look elsewhere when they go past? could be an extension of the tech they use in the series, along with drones like the old Scanner they had?

@@DanTDrac That terrible Rogen movie really soiled ruined the Green Hornet for a lot of people. If it had been played straight instead of some stupid comedy I think it would have been a much better film. The first problem it had was Seth Rogen in the lead. If it had been the original idea back in the day of George Clooney pre Batman and Robin as Britt and Jason Scott Lee as Kato I would have loved to have seen that version of Green Hornet.

They were on TV the bad guys were watching in one episode

But the Hornet and Kato were on two episodes of Batman pretending of course to be the bad guys. But Bats had his suspicions and thought the Hornet was a secret crimefighter-- after the Hornet beat the crap out of him! I miss those days.

Hmm, probably thought in universe that creates a little cannon conflict since The Green Hornet and Kato meet Batman and Robin but a year later give or take although at the time I bet they had no intentions of doing an crossover so it woulda just been a cheeky nod to the other show.

There is an episode of Batman when Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson was watching the Green Hornet and the show got interrupted by the Joker.

Different forms of writing. Batman was Camp, and played for the ridiculous laughs that Camp brought. Hornet was played straight, and showed it's roots in the radio serials and later movie serials it was based on.

and how do you explain the Batman comic book of the 1940s and 50s and early 1960s? it was written for juveniles and was very silly. the Batman tv show appealed to children and adults because kids took it seriously and the jokes went over their heads and appealed to the adults.

I understand there is mood lighting but in the opening sequence you cant even tell who is who and who is talking . Thats poor production.

It was day-for-night lighting which is tough to do when filming in color. It was more a technology problem than production.

@@fatcat8033 lack of budget, they didnt have the large budget to use huge lights to light up the locations for night time. requires alot of lighting and trucks and generators and most of all time which was against them as they were already working long hours.

However Batman claimed a 3 - 1 seasons victory over Green Hornet. So the Public preferred Batman.
