We use to go to IHOP KC around 2005 to 2010 but it was very destructive and it’s run more like a cult it’s it become toxic. Good video

These are really helpful for those of us that didn’t live there but went to conferences and supported ihop from afar. Also really helpful for those of us who have family that were once on staff there and trying to support them now.

I'm glad it's helpful for you - it can be hard for us who were there to connect with our family and describe the experiences there because sometimes it was death by a thousand paper cuts, it has taken a lot of work to get language for conveying why these things were so damaging because sometimes the story can SOUND innocuous and make it seem like the people who were hurt are making molehills into mountains, and I think now that we know what we know about the manipulations that were occurring there, it's easier to see how so much of that was by design.

There is a strange dynamic in "christian business" and Churches. One side expects to be treated with brotherly love and the other expects you should give more as a brother. Also this is a case where the foundation of the church is poor also (I have entertained Mikes teaching before). When I heard the underlying theology of the prayer room from Mike, which I think most people don't know or can't properly hear because they are so sincere about it, I had serious doubts. I have friends who are so into these guys they can't consider the idea of any wrong doing by them.

@@SieNoel I have something that really needs to be exposed, but I am waiting for the proper timing. I'm sure I will know when that time is. It just came to me today that it didn't happen just that one time when I felt truly, seriously violated by privacy intrusion. For now, I will just say that a guy named Bob started it all. The only way forward is shining a light into the darkness to make sure the Holy Spirit is no longer violated in such a way in the future in that place.

I’m so sorry for all everyone is going through 😔 praying for guidance and healing for you all… I was involved in a cult and the damage of the control and mind games is far reaching and long lasting. Jesus help us all❤

When man begins to serve the creature instead of the creator, then the creature becomes a god. In this situation, if someone feels that the ground is sinking under their feet because there is a threat that IHOP will be closed, it means that IHOP has become a god and such a person will fight for his "god" to survive this situation.

Garden Variety Church Business. I’d like to be shocked but this is so common it’s laughable now. IHOPKC might just be the thing that Blows The Lid Off of the American Church… the “Little People” are waking up and have the microphone.. unlike times past when we were run off and labeled as rebellious and bitter. Keep up the good work.. there are thousands that have gone before you.

Jesus never refused to listen to a question from well-meaning people and sometimes even from people driven by ulterior motives or plain pride. He listened and He replied with love and truth and lots of grace. Only weak leaders need to defend themselves or hide behind smoke-screens. Whatever our part in the body of Christ - we need to realize, that the very life of Christ - true humility- must flow into every cell of the Body to maintain or restore health. The Life is in the blood.

We pray for Our Fathers Kingdom to Come and His Will Be Done- let these little 'kingdoms' built by men go- Holy Spirit knows how to go after and protect His sheep- He is cleansing HIS people from hidden idolatry- The Lord is leading so many out into the wilderness to learn to worship HIM alone...Our Good Shepard knows where to find HIS sheep ~I am praying for all of you truth tellers

How about being with Jesus? You don't need IHOPC to have a full life with God. You must grow to depend on HIM.

Hey, a person can be fully reliant on Jesus and also experience deep grief when losing access to His body - the people who are His hands and feet, you know? This was our church family. There's a legitimate grief from experiencing this from your local fellowship.

I'd want to get a lawyer's perspective on your testimony regarding IHOPKC. Were you both paid staff members? Or at least was it put on paper that you guys were employed? I mean if that's the case, law of the land baby. Not that I would be saying take money from IHOPKC. If it was my lawsuit I'd spread the money out to other victims, or just donate it to something like compassion international or something. Just a pathway towards ending this corrupt and gross excuse for leadership in the body of Christ.

Things get funky there. We were listed as independent contractors but iirc did receive a W2, however they did not cover social security/Medicare so we were on the hook for an additional ~7% tax 🥲 and they still wanted to control our beliefs, schedule, and lifestyle
