Guests Trisha Hershberger, Jason Charles Miller, and Megan Brotherton join Becca Scott to build their story-book homes! Watch as they find fairytale allies and fight monsters in The Grimm Forest.

What I like most about this show is that it is not a tabletop clone, you don't cut to asides with the players you don't have background music, and because of that I respect this even more. Please keep making more and I will keep watching

Well, to each his own. I enjoyed having those mid-game interviews with the players - it showed what they were thinking, planning and hoping for. It made for a more interesting show.

I think these are great. Obviously filling the void of the most popular show on the channel is going to be rough (as can be seen by some of the comments here), but I think in time people will start to see the value in the new show/format. Becca is doing a fantastic job. And the guests have been entertaining. The one suggestion I would make is to maybe try to get bigger stars on. A popular celeb can definitely sway a lot of opinions.

Only at the point in watching where the wolf fable card was played for the first time... When my group played this game we would plop down the beasty at the same time the fable card was revealed.. So in this particular case the lass would have to plop the wolf down before the gather cards were revealed. Makes it more of an overall guess, rather than going out of your way to bugger people up directly on the gather location

Nah, he had two options 1 gather 1 wood as a build action or 2 gather 1 of each resource as his friends action.

Missed rule, when you draw a friend card and you do not switch it with your own. You choice someone else and force them to take the new friend card you have drawn and they have to discard their old friend.

They are playing some fable cards wrong. The wolfs and giants and the likes are supposed to be placed before knowing where everyone is going.

If anything it made them like incredible OP. I mean they basically got to choose who to screw over when it comes to the monsters and with the one fable in the end where 4 friends were picked and they were distributed amont them, the person who played the fable was supposed to pick only theirs then randomly distribute the rest, but instead she chose who got what

Before this "season", this was a weekly show on the G&S Twitch channel. Hopefully this will continue to be a weekly series and not a seasonal series like Tabletop was.

When a fable card says that all resources will be burn / taken ... does it include the table board resources ? Or only the resources gained in this turn? :)

I was bummed out when this was moved from GnS Twitch. But this is really good. It is nice to get a feel for a game to help people decide if they want to buy it or not.

For those who aren't in the know: Wil Wheaton is no longer doing Table Top. The show was bought by Legendary Entetrtainment who pissed Wil off with lack of communication, paywalls and shit production styles. G&S was the channel that played Table Top after the paywall expired. Wil had blogged he won't be returning for a 5th season and Game the Game, though technically not a replacement as it was around for quite a while, is all we have left.

You have to understand people are confused as there was no official announcement made on the channel. Season 4 of TT ended and that was that. Only those who follow Wil in his other pursuits (Read: Not everybody) knew Wil wasn't coming back for a season 5. Game the Game may have been around for three years, but I can tell you, as a follower of the channel for a year, table top games was Tabletop, not Game the Game, or whatever shit show this is. People who can't seem to grasp people are upset about Wil leaving or who don't know Wil left just can't get over themselves though and have to be the striking voice of reason.

I have a question. From the instructions of the game, I understand that when you get a friend card, you either keep it, discarding the one you have before, or you give it to someone else forcing them to keep it therefore descarding the one they previously had. I see in this video that a third option is taking place. I see that if you dont want to keep it and you dont want to give it to someone else, then you discard it. Is that correct? This third option is not mentioned anywhere in the instructions. Have I gotten something wrong here?

Pretty sure they did that part wrong lol, the dilemma is that either you get it or someone else does. You shouldn't discard it like these people do.

assuming it's not "cutting magic" Becca's knowledge of the specifics of the game and rule set are impressive. I assume they film a few different games each week, so keeping all of those rules straight is quite impressive.

It’s all how you sell it. Get a couple of fun games with a real low entry barrier and start people off slow. Eventually you’ll get people hooked and the more complex games will come into play. Oh. And. Do yourself a favor and take the time to learn to explain your games well. Rehearse them. Put the game away in an order that puts key cards/pieces in easily accessible locations so you can just grab them as examples while you’re explaining. Literally 90% of whether new people get into a game or not is how well it’s explained. If you can crush the explanation like Becca (or Wil in the Tabletop days), you’re doing yourself a huge favor.

I would also suggest Ticket to Ride and Carcassone to ease non-gamers into gaming. Carcassone does have some aspects that are a little tricky at first, like scoring the farms, but the basics of play are dead simple to learn.

This was a good time! I really liked the theme, but the mechanics kinda put me off. This was my first Game the Game and I like the format! It's kind of nice getting to see the whole game (for the most part), rather than having much of it chopped out.

Tabletop format with Becca hosting would be best. She's more likeable than Wil for sure, but the old format with the cutaway commentary, editing, and guest interviews brought a necessary fun and ease.

sorry I watch your video and I love to follow you even if I speak french. But in this video, when you play the monsters, you do not do it properly you have to place the monsters immediately after the monsters' revelation and not after revealing the places. In addition you made a mistake with the taxation it must only be executed during the next turn.

Heather piunti sorry for this being so late, but if you’re still wondering, yes it can be two players! The game provides a dice that chooses where another pig goes. So I guess it’s technically 3 player but one of the pigs is just random luck with a dice

Look I get Will didn't like the whole Alpha thing and he probably got busy so it was decided to drop Tabletop but you guys should of been more upfront about all of it. This show will suffer because you tried sweeping Tabletop under the rug and hoped no one wouldn't notice. It is a shame too because I love the host of this show but people won't want to watch a show that is just trying to replace another that they grew so attached to.
