This guy went to the guillotine proclaiming that he was afraid to name the 3 men that did the actual murders...At that point they can't do anything worse than what is about to happen...Because they never existed.

These old cases are so interesting. I am glad I found this channel , these sad and shocking cases would be lost in history without a channel like this

This reminds me of another case you had covered where no one saw blood on clothes because the person wore dark colors. It’s terrible what people will do to get money. I don’t think anyone else was involved in the murders. I believe that he killed them all himself for the money and got caught lying

Afternoon BC and fellow BC'ers. Good timing BC, Just v.came off the back of v.intense training this morning so you are a most welcome sight. Poor family, so many murdered for such greed, all those kids - tough. Such a liar trying to blame the victim initially also. Then so many versions of what happened, some grain of truth in the theory he did not act alone. Biting the thumb of the assistant when being put in the guillotine wasnt what I was expecting as his last act!

So sorry that a decent man and his family met with such a horrific end. May the Lord have mercy on them😢

Very sad story. It's ashame that the Man wife, Believed the letter. You would think that she would have recognized her husband penmanship. Knowing it was not her Husbend who wrote it. I am glad he was executed , especially for the killing of the children. A very sick and horrible man to do such a terrible crime.

What a horrific crime an entire family murdered for financial gains, this is probably one of the most despicable crimes, I've ever heard of, period. It appears as though this person didn't do this crime alone, but since he was going to be executed anyway he might as well have named the other three men. But, he did say he feared they would kill his family, though. I would have loved to have known what the inspector on this case really thought about the final analysis of these horrific murders of an entire family. Great investigating of this case, as you always do.

Jean Baptiste no doubt slaughtered an entire family over money but when innocent children are murdered aswell for no reason whatsoever I can never understand the reasons why. @Brief Case I am a well-seasoned true crime nerd of roughly 35 years (most of my life). My first true crime book was about Diane Downs. I religiously watch your videos. As soon as I heard "bring cash, all your children, and the deeds to your properties," I was immediately filled with dread (which does NOT happen to me ever) and audibly said, "ON, NO." Man, you drew me RIGHT IN with this one. I haven't even finished this excellent case study, and it already gets 15/10 from me. ETA: When I heard the police found multiple bodies, "Jesus God" slipped out of my mouth also. TL/DR: Damn, you're good.
