I listened to his audible book and was so sad it ended I started it all over again. Then I finished it again and told myself, “That’s enough!” and started listening to something else. A few days later I gave up and started Misfit for the third time. I just never thought I would connect to someone’s righteous indignation as I do Gar’s. Love him. ❤

Brilliant and hilarious! The Christianity/Jesus bit was spot on and I literally laughed out loud. The OT bit works well for comedy but doesn’t seem like he actually read the OT. “(God) enslaved the Israelites for 400 years” isn’t really the idea…more like Pharaoh did 😂

That bit was comedy, not theology.

Egypt enslaved Israelites which allowed Abraham's seed to grow to 3 million so that when they were released they were large enough to defeat the surrounding pagan nations in the promised Land. Egypt basically protected Abraham's seed so it could grow

God is not trying to get rid of you. The Jews have turned from God time and time again. Jesus always existed in Genesis “Let us create man in our own image”. You don’t need oil you have the Creator of oil on your side. But don’t mock Him.

@@DylanE1 The one not written by Gerhard Kittel and has the OT recognized by Hebrew scholars. Essentially, the Received Text for the Old and New Testaments and has been accepted for millennia. The "Moderns" have only been around since 1901. Not very long at all.

The Jewish/Hebrew God in the Old Testament and the Christian God in the New Testament are NOT the same god. At. All. Old Testament Yahweh is spiteful, jealous, angry, petty, vengeful, women are subservient, eye for an eye, kill thine enemy type of God. The New Testament's God is all loving, all caring, turn the other cheek, forgive thy discretions and welcome thine enemies into your house and break bread with them kind of God. Two completely different gods.
