Is this even surprising? The game is almost 7 years old and it would hard to update considering no one works for PopCap’s shooter games anymore.

If I had to guess, it's because the studio that made it (Popcap Vancouver) doesn't even exist, so EA don't even have anyone on hand that knows how to change it. Granted they could just contact one of the old developers or just look around the code base for schedule (shouldn't be too hard) but those options are "too much work/too inconvenient" for EA.

@@qualitytimewithted5160 the arguement that they don’t know what to change wouldn’t apply though. They are updating the entire anti cheat system, they created α bot to scan and make unban waves, and previously they were able to fix Rux, and completely change his code and shop rotation so the same issue can’t happen again. Adding existing game modes to α premade list would not be difficult

@@qualitytimewithted5160 well they’re already built into the game, they don’t need to add anything. They clearly know enough to change the code entirely for anti cheat, they could do this too. Same thing with heroes, they have enough knowledge of coding to be able to add unused cards or etc. but just choose not to. They could literally add the iceberg lettuce or imatater to BFN and GW2.

I love how nobody mentions the fact they could just get a couple well known modders in the community and get them to fix the mystery portal so they don't have to do any work and just push out a fix update that was made by the community.

As someone who was there from the start of the portal movement on the forums it genuinely sucks to see it slowly die as a ton of new users started communicating on the hope something would happen. Worst part is that we were never given an official awnser as to WHY they can't fix it outside of a few generic responses torn apart by responses. The worst part about all of this is that they made the portal so **** to begin with as if we just had a rotation that included all the modes everyone would be happy and people have been asking for this change since 2020 and only in novemember last year do we actually get something of a response! How has this series in every regard whether tower defense, heroes, or shooter managed to somehow keep consistently kicking its own fans in the nuts since late 2019? We've long since past the stage of dropping the ball to straight up cratering into the earth. The good era of pvz is dead and buried and all popcap does now is p!ss on its grave every few months.

FR. We VERY nearly got Capture the Taco as a permanently playable multiplayer mode, apparently they were 'testing the waters' but for some dumb reason it never came

@@GNVS300well capture the taco did come around the time near bfn so all things considerd a lot of the late worked on this was trying to give gw2 some of the things bfn was gonna have like the torchwood/hover goat skins which orignally going to be varients, and there was a leaked screen for something similar to even a character challenge or was either a prize map that had to be payed for idk the exact details but this is proably around when EA and Popcap started to abounded there roots and pretty much try to gain as much money as possible so they kinda cut support from gw2. An went with a more greedy approach mostly aimed at kids money considerd the cartoon like graphics and pretty much charged money for anything. The things that are mostly left untouched though was how the game is played you needed atlest have some skill and utilization of the upgrades. It’s just the cosmetics are way to closed off for everyone.

That argument doesn’t work tho, they just updated the game with anti-cheat, and modders have already implemented all the boss hunts, is it so much to ask for a basic rotation change? Which would make the game complete able?

I’ve been playing since it came out back in 2016, and I unlocked both the torch wood and goat the “long way.” Totally missed out on their Christmas customization and now cant ever get them because of EA’s weird ways. I’d totally buy the pack if it was available smh!

This is honestly such a shame because one of my favorite game modes in GW2 was Cats vs Dinos, which hasn't been in the mystery portal for years. I hope that they change their mind eventually.

Yes, but the Town Hall only opens once a month for around 2 weeks, and most of the remaining game modes are shit

i dont think some ppl realize this game is 8 years old and this game doesnt get updates anymore.. no one is working on the shooters anymore, cant update the game if no one is working on it. the anti cheat im pretty sure is just slipping in a few files that make sure the game isnt editted or changed
