I've been an illustrator for 10+ years now and my opinion of AI has largely been based on its existence being based off of exploitation. I've never fully cared about AI being "better" then what I do since that notion is based off of individual perception and there are thousands upon thousands of artists that I consider better than myself. As Smith said, AI is here whether we like it or not, something that I struggled with coming to terms with as it has such sweeping implications from a moral standpoint. I would hope that instead of people relying on AI for everything, they instead use it as a tool to push the boundaries of their limits

Space travel is pretty much the worst example for things not developed from War. Wernher Von Braun was the chief researcher for the Nazi's building their rockets, the idea being to gain ground superiority without risking troops by just blowing them up from far away. After the war, he was moved to the US by the Defense department and worked with the Air Force off-shoot that would eventually become NASA. Space travel was, from it's very inception, funded by war.

Operation Paperclip indeed saw the acquisition of a LOT of nazis into the US government. For science of course.

Alex says ai cant rhyme but it gives me loads of lyrics to make suno songs. Is it cheating to make the lyrics rhyme or is Alex wrong?
@SaintPhoenixx
@SaintPhoenixx 14 күн бұрын
Most songwriters go through rhyming dictionaries and Google anyway, using GPT to find rhymes just streamlines the process. Asking GPT to write songs for you is cheating. Asking it to find a rhyme for a word or phrase isn't.

@@SaintPhoenixx eh, song writing was filled to the brim with cheating before ai. Sure lots of people wrote from the heart and we loved them but people stole reused and hashed to grear success. Its up to you how you write, if it makes you happy and doesnt hurt people go for it. My question from Alex's response was that ai couldnt rhyme and since id seen it i was wondering if there was something on the back end that made it rhyme even if it didnt understand why

The thing is that the spread of AI and automation is like the car replacing the horse. Sounds good, but in this analogy we're the horses. Cars didn't make more horse jobs or better quality of life for horses. It merely resulted in a massive drop in the number of horses and horses being relegated to niche roles.

Genuine question, I don't particularly like Elon Musk but I also don't know what he's done to get such hate. Can someone please educate me cos I've loved hat films for years and every time they bring up Elon I feel like I should be as angry as them but I don't have any reason or facts to prove he's not a good person, plus Elon was talking about how he doesn't trust apple's AI because it could be used to collect personal data and then they discusses the same thing, I don't get it, WHAT AM I MISSING HAHA

Elon Musk has some pretty far right views and often pushes conspiracies about Jewish people and immigrants. Also, he’s an asshole: the state of California was going to build a high speed rail but Elon musk said he would build a hyperloop instead and they gave him the contract. As of today it hasn’t never been built and he later admitted that it was never meant to be built, he just didn’t want the railway to be built so that people would keep buying Teslas

For a while, ~5 or so years ago (I don't remember exactly), he was seen as a rising figure within the world who was doing a lot of good through SpaceX and Tesla, among other projects he was starting, but as he became a popular figure to follow, it became quickly apparent that he doesn't really think through what he says very well, and has a sizable ego. There was that whole debacle a few years back where a diver from New Zealand saved a bunch of kids from a cave or some such, and Elon called him a pedophile for no apparent reason, and then doubled down on it. That, combined with him saying some intentionally inflammatory political stuff, soured public opinion on him over time, until eventually he bought Twitter and made several dumb decisions with it. That's pretty much the whole story. Does he deserve to be hated? Meh. He's kind of just a dweeb. But it's ever been popular to hate rich & powerful people, so people do.
@tenebraebr

There's A LOT more than just "guy is successful, says something dumb, it is popular to hate rich" going on. Business malpractices, market manipulation, political stances, concentration of wealth, and more. It is not a simple situation to evaluate.

He's an idiot, a multi-billionaire, has multiple children (some he doesn't talk to), is anti-LGBT, spends his time on Twitter (a website he spent 44 billion on to make it worse and more of an alt-right echo-chamber and bot network), called a guy a paedophile because his bullshit submarine didn't work and an expert saved those Thai schoolkids..

A hat boys, there's a lot more to Elon musk than you guys just talked about in this episode. Grock is not part of open AI. Further on reading your brain like with neuralink, reading from it is rather simple currently with reading EEG waves however like you guys pointed out writing to the brain is pretty much impossible with that method. Further imagine you've got a array of mics set up around a vehicle motor or engine what you're doing is essentially listening to the motor and trying to figure out what's going on in there. That's essentially the same analogy for EEG.
