@@Antonio1950 yes the Romans did conquer greece and BTW while they invaded they met the Greek culture, alphabet, language and so much more and copied even the 12 Greek gods. They stole allmost more than half of Greek language. So when greece was conquered they were under Roman leadership. But when Rome fell with the western empire, the east, which was inhabited by allmost only Greeks, was hellenized just like Alexander the great spread hellenism around the known world. So the Byzantine empire is greek because, 1. Byzantine people spoke Greek 2. Byzanz was Christian orthodox not as Italians roman-catholic 3. The most people were originally from Greece 4. The capital Constantinople was a Greek colony and a Greek city as it was and will allways be the capital of eastern Christianity. 5. If the byzantine empire wasn't Greek, than Turks and Greeks wouldn't be rivals and argue with each other for Constantinople. There are so much more reasons for the Greek heritage of the byzantine empire so all in all THE BYZANTINE EMPIRE IS 🇬🇷
