Hey Sportsnet, the rats never left. We always throw them on the ice after a win. After all, we can't be penalized after a game. You should fire who ever wrote this video after telling him about how research and search engines work.

We throw the rats at the end of every game we win. That’s the tradition now. The NHL only banned the rats after ever goal, but we have never stopped throwing them in 27 years.

Most rats I’ve ever seen, 2012 vs new jersey in round 1 games 2 and 5!!! It was raining rats!!🐀🐀

Honestly, I kinda love it. Being a Detroit fan, I can't help but love it when other teams develop their own take on a tradition like the octopus. Makes the game way more engaging for fans!

STILL one of my favorite memories as a hockey fan, the 1996 Florida Panthers and the 'rat-tossing'. That was cool to see. The story behind it is even more unusual. And you can see that even today the fans in South Florida STILL remember it even though the team, up until recently, wasn't always very successful on the ice. Now we might see the Panthers back in the Cup Final for the 1st time since that epic '96 playoff run. 🙂🐀

My dad (from Chicago, living in Fort Lauderdale at the time) saw the Avs lift the cup after game 4. Imagine bringing thousands of rats to the finals game and you get shut out and lose in triple ot to lose the series 😭
