What a lovely video. This year was my first experience of Ramadan and initially intended to be in solidarity and hold in the Light my Palestinian friends and community. From the first moment to the last day, it was a very special experience of deepening faith, personal discipline, improved health, and much learning. This video gives more depth to the intention of the experience especially about the anticipated changes each year will bring with the difference. I found each day always the day during Ramadan and always different because of the lengthening day. It was a vigorous challenge to meet each adjustment while staying balanced and measured. My sons were very proud it was such a good experience and happy I've maintained the discipline since then.

Intentions are so powerful. Night and day for fasting. a mind set on intentions has a calmness and calculated expectation and hence one doesn’t resort to chaotic whims. I’m so glad you enjoyed Ramadan so throughly and with such awareness. Amazing!

Thank for this beautiful video. I wish I could share Ramadan without the anger and show it seems to have become. People are cross on the street, they boast of fasting and I barely see a deepening of spirituality. Rather a focus on the breaking of the fast instead of simple gratitude. I am in a Muslim country and sad that I cannot enjoy this experience without feeling forced or ashamed.

GG, I don't see why you need to be ashamed or to have any negative sentiment. Whatever anyone says, your practice of Ramadan is an internal affair. It's the resoluteness of your intention in being good to yourself on the spiritual, mental and physical front while also being good to others. The End. I thank you for your sharing and really hope that you can transcend the elements of your immediate environment.

On the bad points: 1 - One could flip this and say that hey, Muslim kids get to see Ramadan as an important time of the year, which deters them from feeling left out of events like christmas season (esp if they live in the west). That being said, I am still in agreement that the commertialization puts a lot of noise between the core of ramadan, which is fasting for the sake of allah, and its many virtues. 2 - I think the second point is weakest. All its saying is people who are not in their element tend to loose control of themselves while fasting. Its a moot point and isn't something that is something I'd categorize as an epidemic issue (which 1 and 3 can be considered ) 3 - Yeah this is indeed a big issue i've taken from Ramadan too for many years and its hard to tell immediate family to not be soo extravagant when it comes to iftar. I guess on the positive side, when you see this food, it makes you say shukr.
@tareqkandari7277
@tareqkandari7277 3 ай бұрын
I understand your thought process regarding a feeling of tradition towards something similar to Christmas for Muslim children. But I dont think that substantiates the larger commercialisation I refer to where its gifts and Ramadan products that are meant for added consumption and expenditure. Your thought on the second point I am not in agreement with. Today the epidemic issue that is reflected in this second point is how society condones behaviour due to fasting. He's rude? Oh, that's ok, because it's Ramadan and he's fasting. I think once society views such large scale behaviour as acceptable then it becomes acceptable, hence a large scale "Bad". The plethora of food is about feasting the eyes and negating any worries regarding survivability. In Ramadan due to the intense and recurrent fasting, our subconscious kicks in to make sure the notion and question of survivability is muted by providing a large ensemble of food and choices. Again, not good.

i like to wish "Ramadan Mubarak" and pray that it brings you and your family closer to G-D, ameen. we also fast during ramadan with our muslim brothers and sisters. however, as the last remnants of the children of israel we fast for 40 days with 29 to 30 days in the month of ramadan and 11 to 10 days in shawwal. the prophet always fasted, like us, in shawwal. though he fasted for 10 to 11 days in shawwal, muslim scholars say he fasted at least 6 days and many follow his sunnah and fast for 6 days in shawwal. the fasting of the prophet in shawwal was obligatory for him, as the final israelite prophet, but for the muslims it is voluntary. this is similar to the midnight prayer, the qiyam al layl. it is obligatory for us and was obligatory for the prophet, but it is a sunnah for the muslims. hence, both for the prophet and us there are 6 obligatory prayers every day. this has been the command of G-D since the time of moses. salaam.

Ramadan Kareem and Mubarak to you and your family as well my friend. That is another gem you share in explaining the history of the of the Siyam AlSit, the fasting of the six as per the Prophet's sunnah.. I wasn't aware that its source was the forty day fast you mention. So the qiyam for you is obligatory purely during ramadan (40 day fast) or beyond as well?
@Tzadokite
@Tzadokite 3 ай бұрын
the qiyam al layl is obligatory just like the obligatory five daily prayers. this was also the case for the prophet (saws). he used to pray it as fard like us instead of nafl like the muslims do. i also like to point out that we do celebrate Eid with the muslims on 1st shawwal before resuming fasting from 2nd shawwal. this is to keep our unity with the muslim ummah. we were commanded to do so by the prophet when we renewed our covenant with Allah at the hands of the prophet.

As a non Muslim, it is perfectly fine to follow a water fast till your breakfast at sunset. Don’t forget the most important element that will make your fast easier by placing you in the right frame of mind and that is to speak your intention to fast to yourself. consciously and with fully awareness. Best of luck to you and it’s a great journey up ahead.

Beautiful job describing the intended flow of Ramadan and its purpose, application & intent! In late '80's I was introduced to it through the Baha'i Faith as I had looked into their teachings. Sadly i loved their all inclusive theory but not their practice that if you didnt follow their prophet, with judgment, cancelled out value of others still following the previous ones?!! Seemed quite the contradiction of terms... PEACE

@@tareqkandari7277 Thank you for answering, Tareq. I'm curious to hear whether or not youtube has ever prevented your posting of a video, or if YT has ever penalized you for one of your posted videos. ~ The video which I posted the deleted comment on, was your VERY SKILLFUL video containing the incriminating quotes by notorious zionists. Thank you so much for your amazing message. So far the only issues I have had with YT is concerning monetization of my content. Most of the times when dealing with content that discusses the history and strategy of Zionism, the video is immediately labeled as tagged as limited for ad revenue. But when contesting these labels I have succeeded in shifting their initial feedback towards full monetisation. The question mark I have is regarding my content exposure. Some videos have all the signs of being successful in terms of viewers clicking the video when presented to them, high viewing % of the video, with substantial interaction through commentary but the video doesn't seem to get the number of impressions one would assume it would have based on such performance. Maybe I am a bit of a conspiracy theorist when it comes to this. But regardless, I keep on producing, vitality will come or it won't. Will not change my approach to sharing the knowledge I am capable of. So again thank you KTTS for your support!!!

thanks for pointing out the "ugly" commercialization that has crept into this beautiful worship of G-D due to western influence in our time. also, i like to correct something in your video. it was never a policy of the prophet to attack caravans of the quraish or any non-muslims. the caravan that he and his companions attempted to attack before the battle of badr was an exception and there was a reason for it. the quraish had looted the homes and properties of the muslims from mecca who had migrated to medina. they added these stolen properties to their own goods when they went to syria for their annual trade. the muslims were attempting to attack them to retrieve any and all the money the quraish had made by selling the stolen properties of the muslims. this was the same strategy that abraham had used when a tribe stole his property. abraham together with some of his servants attacked the tribe at night in a special operation and retrieved his property. the quran says, "oppression is worse than slaughter". after this no other tribe dared to steal from abraham. actions must have consequences. the prophet did not attack any quraish caravan that did not included stolen property of muslims.

Hi Tzadokite. Thank you so much for your detailed sharing of the reasoning behind the Battle of Badr and the retrieval of stolen Muslim property. Yes maybe the addition of "retrieval" with in the text might have been a better addition that not to have.
@Tzadokite
@Tzadokite 3 ай бұрын
that will be nice since one of the ugly falsehoods about the prophet (saws) that the orientalists have been propagating to this day is that he was a "warlord" who attacked caravans for loot, nauzbillah.
@Tzadokite
@Tzadokite 3 ай бұрын
i heard from military historians that the concept of "special operations" using a small group of highly skilled fighters under the cover of darkness at night very likely came from the tactics first used by abraham mentioned above. this was obviously taught to abraham by Allah just like Allah taught David how to make and use chainmail in battles for the first time in human history. Allahu Aalam.
