Great analysis. The atheists are quick to blame Alghazali, but they never say that the great muslim scientits where also muslim scholars. I think the divisions also compounded the rapid decline. In order for muslims to get back on track, they have to start believing in themseves and taking matters into their own hands. Also, we need to get rid of the colonized and defeated mentality.

There's a key difference between colonialism and how Muslim empires historically handled conquered territories. Colonialism aimed to fundamentally reshape societies, often through forced assimilation and cultural suppression. In contrast, Muslim conquests primarily focused on establishing political control and collecting taxes. Conquered populations were often allowed to maintain their own religious practices, legal systems, and social customs. This included freedom of religion, denominational courts for internal matters, and autonomy regarding marriage, divorce, and child custody. When we examine military history in general, it's clear that modern colonialism stands apart from past conquests. Unlike Muslim empires or even traditional societies like the Indians, Mongols, and Chinese, modern colonial powers exerted far greater control over the lives of conquered peoples.
@ThePrincipleLogicianКүн бұрын
Also the claim that Islam spread solely by the sword is a misconception. While military conquest played a role in Islamic expansion, the Umayyad Caliphate, the early rulers, likely weren't actively encouraging mass conversions. This is because they benefited from a tax called Jizya, levied on non-Muslims. A larger non-Muslim population meant more revenue for their continued conquests. It was primarily under the Abbasids, the next major Islamic dynasty, that Islam saw significant growth among local populations. This conversion process wasn't immediate; it unfolded over centuries through various factors.

Well said and beautifully articulated. I concur fully with your additions.

So why is the middle east richer than sub saharan Africa?All they have majorly are oil and gas but Africa has oil and gas, gold,diamonds, cash crops like cocoa,balanced weather conditions,high literacy etc
@tareqkandari72772 күн бұрын
Simple math Odemaj8605. For example Nigeria, the largest oil producer of Sub Saharan Africa produces 1.5 Million barrels of oil a day. With a population of over 230 Million. In all the major oil producing states in the Arabian peninsula, the total population won't hit 60 Million but with a daily production of 18 Million barrels. Plus the extraction of oil and gas from the Arabian peninsula is cheapest in the world hence the profits are highest for these nations.
@odemaj86052 күн бұрын
@@tareqkandari7277 it was a rhetorical question.Nevertheless you are wrong, math ain't the reason, the simple reason is the poor leadership of African nations, the region is still deeply invested in selfish individual interests,we can refine more yet the west refines for us,the agriculture sector is severely under eqiuped and utilized and the lack of investment in human resources

@tareqkandari72772 күн бұрын
Very difficult to ascertain to be honest. They were more or less the same age although Abu Nidal was part of Fatah until they threw him out. Also Abu Nidal was supported heavily by Iraq and for Kanafani, Iraq was part of the military nations that he despised so I dont think they had any relationship. Hence why I say it is difficult to know how or if Abu Nidal could have been influenced by Kanafani. Maybe through his literature?

Your video raises a great point! While it focuses on the Ottoman Empire, the same principle applies to Arab empires, particularly the Abbasids. They embraced the talents of people from diverse ethnicities, most notably Persians who made significant contributions to poetry, astronomy, philosophy, and mathematics. These contributions ultimately enriched Arab culture and prestige. This historical example shows why religious identity, which is more unifying, is more important than ethnic identity. You can still be proud of your ethnicity and culture but it must never be placed above Islam.
