I have this car, 2014, 1.8L manual. Reliable, economical, relatively fun to drive and not too big. Not really any complaints either. Fun gimmick, you can upload your own png for the media screen background, mine is hagrid from the PS1 harry potter videogame.

I have also same year manual also Tourer(Station Wagon). Got it cheap with only 85.000km. Cruise control, ABS, Climate more I don't need. Cheap to maintain. I would like the headlights like with a facelift in this video.Headlights are ok on model 2014 only slightly weaker which could be fixed with Osram night braker bulbs. I guess the engines R18Z4 are pretty bulletproof according to statistics.

Basic trim of this 9th gen. You have more attractive look with the sport trim (black alloy rims, stiffer suspensions and so on). With the magic seats and that solid little r18, you get a very good daily car. And easy to improve 👍 Thanks for your video !

Over here in Aus my partner has one in the VTI-S manual spec and same engine as in your review. I don't think they called it the Euro in Australia and the manual was only offered without the luxury features such as touchscreen radio, heated seats, projector headlights etc. Can't say I agree about the clutch and engine experience, to me the clutch is very vague and marshmallow-like and the engine takes a long time to get into high revs and doesn't have power until you get there. But I do love the way it handles and I resonate with the steering feeling light but being a positive experience. Thanks for another great video with a car you don't hear much about!
@KiwiCarLife

Thanks man! I can see what you mean about the clutch, it’s still vague like a modern car. But somehow despite that it’s still extremely easy to drive quickly and smoothly without that annoying bucking effect a lot of modern cars have

Hello there Liam, I am thinking of buying a more modern Honda here in Europe and I need an estate. The only two options here are the Tourer/ estate version of the Civic (2014-2017) and the Accord CW1/2 which is even more hard to find these days. The car market is pretty much dead at the moment which is why I am thinking of buying either one … how does the Civic compare to the MkVIII CW1/2 estate? Are there any downsides with buying the Civic? How is the noise insulation compared to the Accord? I currently drive an Accord CE2 Wagon and it’s terrible at Autobahn speeds. It’s very loud and tiring on longer journeys. Basically I am pretty tempted to buy a lot of interesting cars that you have either owned or reviewed but as a family man I have got to stick to an estate😂 I love the CL9, the CU2 Accords and the Lexus IS as well but they aren’t really that roomy and practical. The CN Accords are from what I have heard also pretty bad at soundproofing so the 8th gen Accord Wagon and 9th gen Civic Euro Tourer are therefore the remaining candidates.

I have Civic Tourer 1.8iVtec bought it cheap here in Switzerland with only 85.000km. Looks brand new. To be honest Civic has good aerodynamic that is better then Accord regardless which year. Sound proofing is ok at 160kmh at least for me is better then even some premium like Passat B8. I am going for vacation soon so I will test it to 200kmh to compare to other cars I had. Tires also play big role the better those are the less noise in the cabin also.I have some Michelin for sommer but will change to Dunlop as I had better expirence overall.

0:16 the funniest part is the 'American' version of that gen Civic isn't even sold in America, it was sold in Canada as the Acura CSX but the American civic of that time had a completely different (IMO uglier) look. As for the European versions they actually got both the sedan and hatch like you guys but with different specs such as an optional 2.2L diesel engine.

I've got a high mileage one of those in manual too, it has some sort of problem with the fuel system, you see it takes a long time to use a tank of fuel 🤣 Apart from being 12mm off the ground, and anything taller than a 6 year old child will bang their head on the ceiling in the back seat, it's a fantastic motor car.

Makes researching about cars a bloody nightmare, because depending on where you live, a certain car model may be completely different from the "same" car model in the opposite side of the world. You can't understand the frustration of looking up a car that you're thinking of buying and then wondering why the car being reviewed looks different from the car that you're looking to buy, despite being the "same" car on paper.
